If you want to fight at 175 and you are regarded as P4P material then fight a legit 175 pounder. People get seriously hurt in mismatches.

This, exactly. This fight is a mismatch that in no way prepares Ward for GGG or Kovalev. But nearly every weekend we are treated to long-scheduled, ridiculous mismatches in title fights that nobody but fans say a peep about. Dudes get knocked out or easily decisioned and are rewarded with title shots. Guys like Murdock with pretty records get title shots every weekend
