Golovkin's camp for years have said that the fight doesn't make financial sense for them. Recently, they've been claiming that GGG is a "clear A-Side" and they want 164lbs too.

GGG Nation is the only side making excuses for the fight not to happen. Looks like you are going to get your wish.

I'm kinda bored of it now and bored of the Golovkin circus.

They can't negotiate now? It must be all on Ward's terms.

Golovkin didn't try to negotiate. His team flat out rejected the fight and said "maybe 2017".

Don't worry. Ward will have about less than one year to decide what he wants. If he decides to fight Kovalev, that's fine. But I doubt it. He's looking like a confused individual at this point.

          We'll soon find out.

Even if you believe it was a fake offer, it's irrelevant. You still came out with some excuse for GGG turning it down when you thought it was real. You say he's too small and that Ward should come down in weight etc etc.

You're ****ting yourself over that fight getting made. Don't worry, it looks like Little G is safe and that Big Bro Kovalev will protect him.
How can you believe something is fake AND think it was real?

Lol no. He was working on trying to persuade HBO to let him fight another journeyman on the Cotto/Canelo undercard.

Ward is trying to get the best of the 50-70 rankings at SMW to meet him for "Bum Fights" up at 175 so he can bide his time and retire prior to a Kovalev obligation. P4P BABY!!!!!!

Yeah, he'll say whatever they want to hear in order to get two million to fight a can. Then when it comes time to fight kovalev, he'll just sue somebody. I don't know why anyone believes anything he has to say. He's proven multiple times through actions that he's not interested in fighting. He'll only do it under his circumstances and against a no hoper.

What a massively dull unoriginal thread. There are already so many, why create another one?

This is such a boring topic now, and I don't understand why GGG fans are not moving on from this. Because it is mainly you guys not letting this go.

GGG's team made a statement about fighting anyone from 154-168, I am pretty sure they said it half serious and half for publicity purposes. I don't think they expected the biggest baddest dog out there in those weight classes to respond, unfortunately for them he did. It is not at all a smart fight for Golovkin to take right now, anyone with half a brain can work that out. He is not yet a star and with a potential Canelo or Cotto fight laying in the shadows that should be the priority, and with all due respect two smaller and inferior fighters to Ward.

No one really knows how good Golovkin really is, there is no barometer at the moment. We know he beat guys like Murray, Macklin, etc. Guys who also came up short in the past. Ok he beat them more convincingly and dominated but its difficult to compare. The Lemeiux win was a step up and very impressive, but still he is not fighting anyone even close to Andre Ward. He hasn't yet beat anyone who is even a solid B/B+ champion. If we can see him against Cotto or Canelo we will learn a lot more about his capabilities, even if they are smaller guys they have elite skills. After that he would need to move up and beat guys like Abraham, Dirrel, Degale and then we would get even more of an idea and more comparable competition.

This guy could struggle bad when he steps up levels, we just don't know yet, so all this Ward talk is really premature. Either way I wish people would drop it already, both guys are moving in different directions, if there is a time when it makes more sense in the future then great, for now I will look forward to Ward -Kovalev, and GGG vs (Cotto-Canelo) or whoever else at 160-168.

For the record I think if GGG can't get the winner of that fight he should fight Lara, that is a good progressive step for his career against a dangerous, elite guy where he can have a direct comparable with Canelo's performance.

If K2 gots an ounce of intelligence (& they do) they won't want GGG fighting Ward right now. They likely got a 2016 lined up with fights with Cotto & GGG if they play their cards right in their current division. Then they got a 2017 that could arguable be still at 160 if someone notable makes some moves while GGG is having some big fights or he could move up & fight Ward or if Ward isn't there maybe TR's Ramirez is still undefeated, won a belt & ready to get into big fights.

GGG gots a more interesting & profitable path sticking to 160 right now. Ward is desperate & needs something, anything interesting to happen yesterday for his career as his career has taken so many backward steps since the Dawson fight. Sounds like HBO feels the same way which is why they seem to wannabe driving towards Ward vs Kovalev based on Ward's new contract rumors (I think they mentioned Ward seldom or if at all as a potential GGG opponent during the GGG fight which doesn't suggest they wanna make that fight to me).
