That would make a complete mockery of a belt. It is already losing it's meaning with all catchweights... If they (WBC) allow the winner to keep it and not fight GGG at the proper weight, I think GGG should say "to h**l with them" and take them to court. Fight somebody else. Andy Lee or whatever. Fighters who are not afraid to call themselves middleweights. WBC is losing credibility fast, allowing Wilder to duck Povetkin as well...

Your an idiot, shut up. Cotto/Canelo don't need GGG, GGG needs them. They'll drop the belt and tell GGG to go fuc himself.

He should move up to 160. But if he want to continue to fight at 155 it harms absolutely nobody unless he is defending a title at 155. That would wrong for sure and I would think less of him if he did that. I don't think Canelo is trying to start a new weight class of 155 with him as the champion. He has more class than that I hope. If he fights at 155 with no title at stake then what's the problem? Most non title fights aren't fought at the division limits anyway. Broner-Porter 144. Ward's last fight at 172. Garcia-Peterson at 143 and many more like these.

I think the biggest problem is that he consistently fights within the Middleweight weight class (155-160) because he can't make LMW anymore, yet he refuses to fight guys in his weight class without bringing them down a few pounds to gain an advantage.

He's fought there for 2 years now, it has to come to a point where he he has to accept he's actually a middleweight now and fight as one. How long does he want to "grow into a middleweight"? He is one already officially, and fought his last 3 fights above LMW.

It's not a one-off like the above cases, its continuous.

As long as it is in Canelo or cottos hands, that belt won't be defended at 160 until a middleweight holds the belt

GGG has a legally binding contract from the WBC. K2 would sue them if they broke it. That's happened before to the WBC. Graciano Roccchigiani was award $30million damages after they broke a contract with him. The WBC almost went bankrupt over that.

The only way Mayweather could fight Canelo for the WBC belt before GGG is if somebody paid GGG step aside money. Floyd could afford it, but does he want another belt badly enough? I wouldn't think so.

                    - Canelo is going to be in a real fight againts Cotto, win or loose, its not going to be easy, he is going to take his lumps. Lets see how he handles Cottos power. If he can take Cottos power without a problem, then he can give GGG a good fight, If Cotto can hurt him, he better stay away from GGG if he wants to continue his carreer.

Man, I hope canelo wins the belt from cotto, but I really hope he has trouble making weight.
