Broner got exposed by semi-retired, mediocre Malignaggi, then beaten to a pulp by a mere Maidana. And everyone thinks Golovkin can only be exposed by the #2 P4P. I don't see the connection. It's apples and chicken.

Well.... it's not just me, now is it.
More than twice as many responders to your cool poll feel the same way.

To begin with, it's pretty pointless to defend a viewpoint against someone who actually puts weight on Broner's 4 trinkets, like they actually put him on par with other multi-division champions. But I'm feeling charitable, so I'll give it a go. Let's begin with Broner's list of opponents, shall we? One of the first recognizable names on Broner's resume is Ponce de Leon, that paragon of mobility... the dude who got KTFO'ed twice by JML, himself now shot and practically out of boxing. No big stretch for anybody with any boxing ability to beat the guy by decision. Next name is feather-fisted Malignaggi. Broner ekes out another split decision. Boom! Another useless trinket. Then came my favorite Broner fight.... the beatdown he got from Maidana. Must've put a knot in the shorts of all Broner fans. Don't remember whether it was before or after that fight that Broner was ******ly comparing himself to Floyd Mayweather. Real likable fellow, that Adrian. Since then he's also lost to Shawn Porter.... and now collected himself another trinket by beating that epic challenger, Khabib whatshisname.

GGG, meanwhile, isn't interested in skipping through weight classes to pick up trinkets. He's merely beating everyone they put in front of him. Recognizable names. Maybe not the best competition.... but what's available. He's not an @sshole like Broner is. He's merely a good and entertaining fighter who let's his fights do the talking, unlike Broner.

Understand this: I'm not a GGG groupie. I hate Broner more than I like GGG. But at least GGG entertains. Whether or not he'll fight Ward, or Kovalev, or the winner of Cotto/Canelo.... remains to be seen. I'm not anointing him the greatest MW just yet.

But while GGG is still a work in progress, Broner is already an @sshole.

I feel kinda like a **** cause I can't respond with a longer post as I'm at work and on my phone. Just know this though, I also don't hate ggg. I ordered his fight and don't even watch it until way later that night as I was out. But I think over the coarse of the last 6 months ggg and his team have made fools out of themselves with their bold statements only to have people call their bluff and they change their tune. The fact is, ggg is safe in the MW division, very safe. Broner has at least pushed himself to his limits and realized his potential (or lack there of). That to me is what separates them two. Plus, it's irrefutable that Broner has had the better career thus far. The fact that ggg has more potential (possibly) is irrelevant to the question posed.

I hope that's what he and everyone else is saying. PDL was a very good fighter at his best and there were a lot of positives in his career and skillset. But he was not a great fighter unless you set the bar a lot lower than most boxing fans do. You're seriously reaching all over the place trying to big up Broner.

Maidana wasn't a hard fight, Broner just sucks. Maidana had only faced three unranked fighters at WW after being shut out by Alexander. It was suppose to be an easy fight but Broner just wasn't as good as Showtime and Haymon thought.

As for Porter, they tried to drain him and it didn't work.

Both Porter or Maidana are B Fighters who destroyed an over hyped B- fighter.

I agree but you got to see it as a Challenge for Broner at a "foreign" weight class

Very close resumes, Broner has definitely fought the better competition though. He's also brave enough to move up in weight, you can't even get lil g to move up 8lbs to fight Ward.

Broner fights everybody, lil g's resume is carefully cherry picked.

Broner is the poster boy for titles not mattering...every time he fights a B level guy he gets beat..but somehow he has 4 titles in 4 divisions against garbage fighters.
