Yeah a blatant Ward mismatch does nothing for the ppv honestly. It's just dead weight. Budget spent more wisely elsewhere. Surely the orchestraters of this event see that. Surely.

      True.

Looks like it will be age 38 super middleweight journeyman Alexander Brand, who started boxing at age 32. Ward will have him move up to 175.

Gotta hand it to RocNation. They know that Canelo/Cotto is gonna sell well enough to cover Ward's fee, even if the fight is a sham against a tomato can.

If he is going to fight tune ups at LHW, at least fight a true LHW and not SMW moving up in weight.

Ward fans themselves should want a true light heavyweight. Not a 168 pounder moving up. This is a sham fight on a ppv card.

Andre ward should be ashamed of himself.

I would suspect that they are getting HBO to pay for this fight outside of the ppv, because I guarantee you that neither Cotto, Canelo, or Golden Boy are giving up 5 cents of their money to put Ward on.......

Most definitely. Absolutely disgraceful match up. Don't want to see another Zerafa incident where we are fearing for an overmatched fighter's life.

Yep, like Garcia v Salka. That was a disgusting knockout against a guy who was lucky to escape without lasting damage. Not knocking Garcia, he did the job he was paid to do but nobody should have sanctioned that match.

Boxing commissions need to be more responsible for fights they're sanctioning in future and i'm glad someone has put their foot down on this.

The guy was a SMW who was no where near a title shot at even the least of the titles at 168. He was about 5 fights away from a fight with a contender.
