Why should he? He holds belts at 160 like they do. I don't think cw should be allowed for a championship fight. They're ordered to face him. So they should come up or vacate.

Larry,why do you insist on bringing in financial things into the equation? If cotto or canelo decide not to fight golovkin,they get stripped of the belt,and golovkin becomes the full wbc champ. If the wbc tries to be funny,k2 takes them to court,and they take the belt by force. After that, all ggg has to do is take the wbo belt from the Lee-saunders winner,and he becomes THE middlewights champ of the world. Like I said before,the lineal title mean squat if it doesn't belong to the best in the division,which is clearly golovkin.

Don't think this is a fair fight, GGG is a naturally bigger dude. Regardless of day of fight weight arguments, you can't compare solid muscle to water weight. At the same time, what should we expect when Canelo-Cotto are fighting at "160" now. So, it is what it is.

Canelo is listed at 5'9 and came in for trout at 174.

GGG is 5'10 and came in heaviest at 171.

Both are solid muscle.

Size isn't the issue.

I'm on and off with the possibility of a voluntary. They'd definitely want a May or September date, but a September date would cut it close to Ward/Kov and a May date would cut it close to Pac.

Also it's no voluntary unless camps agree... both camps would totally agree to a voluntary

Catto has nothing to offer him. No belt, and the fight isn't exactly gonna be labeled as close.

Also, no way Floyd fights him at 155 or up, so the lineal would be meaningless to Floyd. Floyd is too smart to think he'd get credit for beating Cotto or Canelo at MW minus the belt.

It is really a matter of being real about it.

Picking that belt out of a trashcan literally does nothing to advance Golovkin's career. He needs to beat the winner because that is what is truly meaningful.

IF Golovkin wants to fight the winner of that fight, then he is going to dance a little jig if the winner tells him to dance and if they ask him to jump he is going to need to say how high, then jump higher.

Sucks for him but that is the story, and it is really only going one way because those guys do not need Golovkin. However if Golovkin does as they ask with no back talk (until the fight is signed) he might get his shot.
