Marvin Havler was the fuqing man. Top ten boxer of ATG and perhaps the greatest MW of all time.Hagler didn't have to move up, challenges where coming up in weight and even then he is a smallish MW.

GGG, the best MW since Hagler is in a similar predicament. He a small MW who best chlallenges will come up to face him. No need for either man to move up as they will both be recognized as legends.

How is he not a legend?

I wouldn't classify the Duran fight as 'great', but the rest stands.

That title meant nothing until after Hagler retired. No way he was giving up the second most prestigious title in boxing to pursue it.

You would benefit greatly from some boxing history lessons. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Isn't it true Hagler was the number one contender for four years and couldn't get a title shot?

Yes mainly because he has lost previous fights and what not (excuses lol)... but like I had told the OP that SMW division didn't really exist until after he retired.

Yea they had the IBF belt and what not but at that moment in time they wasn't even an officially recognized sanctioning body.

Hagler is far from a legend. He's exciting to watch though.

No it's not. You guys just get all sensitive when a black boxer is criticized for the same thing you guys criticize someone for like GGG/DLH.
