Was a no lose situation for Canelo. Had he won he was the cash cow and next Oscar De La Hoya crossover star.
He lost, but he took no punishment and raised his profile and his name recognition. If he keeps winning over time people will look back on that loss and chalk up his bad performance as inexperience.
He beats Cotto and he owns Cinco de Mayo weekend for the foreseable future and the September dates as well.

Green k for Canelo. He learned. Floyd out classed him, and hopefully he watches his loss to Floyd more than his wins over others. You learn more from your losses than you do from your wins. Surround yourself with critics who want you to improve, and not sycophants who kiss axx.
Good for Canelo. He learned in defeat, and no excuses, hand pain, tight socks, shoulder pain, dehydration, etc.

It hasnt hurt his career, because it was a loss to the p4p number 1. And he got his biggest payday to do it along with all coverage from selling 2 million ppv's. Of course there is a positive.

Sad it never worked out but also glad P Williams is doing good in life and recovery.
