The difference is that GGG doesn't go around saying he's the GOAT after running and dancing his way past undersized, beaten up or just older "former" champions. The bar is higher because Fraud made it higher but as usual Fraud just doesn't want to pay for it. Your point is valid though that Ray Leonard was a true champion taking the challenges he did. Fraud has proven he is not by avoiding them his entire career. If ya wanna boast your the GOAT then step up or shut up because that decision determines your credibility.Comment

I think Mayweather likely comes in about 15 pounds lighter than GGG if they fight (a fight I'm totally again, it's unfair, Floyd is too old and too small. He can't hurt GGG at all).
My point is, Ward would be about 15 pounds heavier than GGG if they fought.
The difference is, GGG can hurt Ward. I think that fight should happen, prob 2017.Comment

Omg, Yes, Ward did say he walks around at 180. Likely fights a bit heavier. Duh
As it is ridiculous to suggest that Mayweather should have fought GGG, so it is to suggest that GGG fight Kovalev. Anybody who says that crap just wants to see the fighter they don't like get beat up by someone bigger than they are, because no one in their weight class could beat them. That said, Ward has been talking smack lately, but if GGG does fight him, Andre may eat his words.
2. It's two PPV stars together.
3. It's as much about two country rivalry.
4. Quite literally GGG first PPV.
5. Roc Nation has overpaid Ward in past, likely loses money. I'm not sure what he'll get, but if your suggestion Ward is a bigger star than GGG, you need to start looking around you.
You think Ward walks around at 180, but doesn't fight any heavier.
He is having trouble making weight at 168.
He at least fights at 185, if not 190.
There is nothing laughable about that.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 10-20-2015, 04:11 PM.Comment

No one is saying Mayweather is same size as Canelo. I'm saying he isn't 20 pounds lighter.

Next, there's no way Golovkin comes in at 170 lbs. He'll come into the ring even higher just to give himself even more of a physical advantage unless there's a rehydration clause! It's only smart. Just another reason why that fight is just a fantasy.Comment

And how do you know this? There's too much evidence that says otherwise. We have info from 30-day weigh-ins which point to 150 lbs. The 7-day weigh-ins are also consistent. And the fight night weigh-ins we have seen are all consistent too.

But I've said repeatedly, the Floyd GGG fight doesn't make sense.
I'm saying the weight differences are comparable with GGG/Ward.
Weight isn't the reason Floyd should fight GGG.
It's Floyd is too old, can't hurt GGG at all. So GGG just walks through Floyd and eventually lands.
Floyd is 38 years old. It's too much to ask.Comment

Most writers said that Pacquiao was Mayweather's legacy defining fight. After he beat Pacquiao, writers started saying that he didn't fulfill his potential by entering his 6th weight class at 39 years old, and challenging the best middleweight in the world The Mayweather standard is an unforgiving one, I must say.Comment
