Comments Thread For: Kovalev-Ward Winner Will Be P4P Best, Says Duva

Main Events CEO Kath Duva, who promotes IBF/WBO/WBA light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (28-0-1, 25KOs), has a very good feeling that a showdown will come off with Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) in late 2016.

Duva says Ward and his team are in the process of finalizing an multi-fight agreement with HBO, and that deal includes a fight with Kovalev.

If Ward's fight is announced Monday and it's at LHW, I guess they hammered out a deal.

Dear god, hope Duva does a better job promoting this than all the other fights

The deal is a 3 fight deal i think. ward fights on cottos undercard next, then in the summer 2016 and then in late 2016 against Kovalev

Good news. Looking forward to Ward at 175. Hopefully it's Vs Gonzalez on the Canelo Cotto undercard.

Right now both of these fighters are in top 5 p4p. Not these other 2 hype jobs that fought last night

            #2 P4P vs #3 P4P

Wouldn't be upset if either takes over Gonzalez.

Both have beaten accomplished fighters in their division so this would certainly be a star making event since both have pulled 1mil+ viewers on HBO in the past despite Ward's recent poor showing on non-sports network BET.

Agree. Gonzalez is sure as hell not #1 p4p fighter.

I'll go one step further. The winner will be leading candidate to fighter of the DECADE and will punch a ticket to the HOF no matter what happens after.

Andre ward showing why american fighters are #1
Giggi didn't have the heart to move up to fight Ward so ward did one even better and moved up to face a better fighter and a bigger man
                  America always prevails

Yea, 3 fight with Kov being the last of the three. Supposedly he'll be announced for the card tomorrow and maybe an opponent soon after
