Everyone needs to stop tripping out on Williams. Colon was grabbing on tight, they swung around, and he instinctively threw a shot. It's part of the risk of going into the ring, and it's also why there is a rule that a fighter is not supposed to bend below the waist.

Best wishes to Colon and his family. It's a terrible thing to go through, but if it ends up better off than Magomed, he's going to be alright.

In other words had he not been disqualified there's a good chance he'd be dead right now.....

Is there any boxer who's been in this sorta position thats alright today that I'm not recalling?
Magomed Abdusalamov at least is alive, but can't do nothing on his own

Last night I had a heavy heart and woke up today hoping the news was not worse....I am glad he is breathing on his own. He needs to wake up normal now......fingers crossed.

What a fucking sad turn of events. I recorded the fight just to watch the kid since I wanted to see how he would handle the step up.

Even Ray Leonard admitted to be impressed with some of his tools, and then said "Dont get confused by his looks, I had the same problem", fully knowing the kid had potential to be a star.

I remember thinking I hope this kid improves his defense under Diaz so I dont have to see him get ktfo or badly harmed since he reminds my son, kid born in Florida from 100% boricua parents. Then I wake up and read this....

Damn sad, I know that young warrior will make it through. Hopefully he can enjoy a normal life outside of boxing.

Glad he is OK. I wonder what his future holds. If he can't fight again it is a good thing he is with Haymon, since we see he takes care of his guys after their careers are over too.

Really hard, and sad to imagine a guy like Colon with such a vibrant personality in a coma. I keep checking the news in hopes that once the meds wear off that he comes out of the coma....and is normal.
