Yeah I don't think it strengthens GBP's case at all.

But I'm a Floyd stan so what do I know? Except that Manny would end up taking the test, that he would lose to Floyd, that the Mayweather-Showtime deal would be a great one for all involved parties (not some major loss), that Espinoza would not get fired but maybe even promoted and now in spite of what people are saying, that PBC is actually doing quite well. Maybe I'm just dealing in reality, I don't know.

But I digress. GBP has been featured on other networks, has done a lot of business with Haymon and enjoyed exclusitivity contracts with venues, etc. So their argument boils down to the fact that Haymon has moved on and the fighters chose to go with him. Keep in mind that if these fighters didn't have a contract with GBP before the rift, that means Haymon allowed his fighters to work with Golden Boy even though they weren't contracted to. And that case was settled. Only thing that's changed now is that he's doing it with other promoters. I mean the list goes on as far as why GBP's case isn't strengthened (the opposite actually) but what do I know? I'm just a Floyd stan

Definitely doesn't strengthen their case. In fact it makes them have to reevaluate their approach entirely. I dunno why anyone would think that.

Btw, the main difference between the GBP case and the Arum case is that GBP relied on the Ali act to springboard into their Anit-Trust litigation. They put it together a whole lot nicer than Top Rank. It at least appears that way. The problem is though, does GBP actually have standing to use the Ali act for its litigation? I'm not entirely sure it does. Ali act was meant to protect boxers, not promoters. And it isn't a Anti trus stature at all in fact. A lot for the judge to consider. But Him shooting down Top Rank's suit gives GBP a chance to go back to the drawing board, nothing more. If the main point they have to rest their laurels on is the never used Ali act, they are in a bit of trouble.

                  Link?

Curious what about TR getting a L gives GBP a better shot.

LOL no doubt. Its sad & ironic the first person to use the Ali Act against someone is a promoter trying to use it against a de-facto promoter over losing business & not a fighter using against a promoter for f#cking them over. Honestly doe the Ali Act seems to lack teeth to me so its not odd this hasn't been used before by anyone & it seems like a desperate act in its usage now.

And meanwhile we've had probably a half dozen, give or take, elite level fighters over the last 2 years who've had to sit for a year over promotional contracts. And the promoters never miss a step cuz they got a bunch of fighters & unlimited time to promote fights while the fighter has only himself & a limited period to be competitive at the top levels.

Plus Oscar while in such dire straights has had 3 of the more interesting fights in the sport including 2 of the most looked forward to fights of the year that also happen to be PPVs. You can't tell me you're struggling in the business when you are gonna have the 2nd biggest PPV of the year in a month.
