GBP got ripped off with all of the fighters that Oscar thought were signed to him actually NOT being signed and then suddenly going over to Haymon.

In that sense Golden Boy can certainly show injury to themselves.

It would depend on whether or not the contracts were ambiguous. However, the point is moot because he settled on the matter outside of court.

You wouldn't sign a contract that clearly specifies that you will pay $200 a month, and then argue that you thought you should only pay $200 a year. You would have to prove a misrepresentation that overrides the written agreement or that the contract was ambiguous.

The argument that he thought otherwise would fall flat in any event. If I remember things correctly, Schaeffer entered the contract on behalf of GBP. I doubt Schaeffer would come out and say he thought the agreement meant something else.

Actually the GBP lawsuit only includes things that happened AFTER all the previous stuff was arbitrated & Haymon paid GBP a nice pile of money. I believe GBP's current lawsuit is stemming from activities that have occurred since January(?) of this year. I believe its January anyway. Anyone feel free to correct me on the date if I'm wrong, but ik all the Schaeffer stuff got handled & isn't included in this current lawsuit.

The main things the Reddit law guy mentioned as issues now are the Santa Cruz vs Mares fight situation (not really understanding this one, thinking its about the fight not happening until both fighters were away from GBP but not sure), a StubHub issue (they are saying Haymon holds venue dates so others can't plan events only to cancel them, this seems like something that could be easily argued against by plans changing or intentions changing & if you did it a bunch of times it seems like the venue would see the trend that would hurt their own bottom line I'd assume) & some issue with Fox (again not really understanding this issue, assuming its Fox Sports 1 deal related since the regular Fox deal just got made, but idk).

These old school promoters have no idea about TV creation protocols and formats. They can cry the Ali Act all they want but Haymon is just building a platform on networks. That has nothing to do with promoting fighters. Fihhters are being given the privilege to fight on this new platform. The old school promoters suffer in thinking that they are losing profits because of a newer outlet. Nothing more. Haymon is beyond smarter than any Top Rank goon.

yes sir cant wait to see the excuses
bc most of these tr supporters are NOT law professionals so they're bringin' emotion of their hatred for a person who's on the coincidental list into the law world and it dont work like that on a base level.
