my personal preference would obviously be for the fight to happen at 168 so there are no excuses afterwards, however when 2 guys from different divisions fight, a "meet in the middle" deal isnt all that terrible.
That being said, if after that the smaller guy decides to stay and campaign in that division, then that should be the end of any catchweight demands.......Comment

Totally different situation and you are well aware of that. Every time you bring this up, it makes you look more foolish. You are better than that.
Catchweights like that are what drove me away from following the sport as a fan back then. Fighters like Mayweather are what kept me away. It took a fighter like Golovkin to get me interested again. If he was to allow himself to fall into the catchweight title game, I would once again give up on the sport and would not bother coming back to it.
The sport of boxing needs some proper rules if it wants to be taken seriously as a top level sport. All this catchweight crap is one of many reasons boxing has fallen to become a fringe sport today.
It is not a serious sport when it is easy for fighters to find legal ways to gain an unethical advantage over an opponent. If catchweights are allowed in title fights, you may as well allow PED use as well.Comment

Golovkin has already stated that any fight with Ward would NOT be for a SMW title as he has no interest at this time in any title other than MW.Comment

you cant compare the 2 scenarios. If GGG won a title at 168, defended it twice, and THEN demanded a catchweight from Ward, you would have a point.Comment
