Shoot, with those shots that Cleverly was landing on him, Kovalev will chew him up and spit him out in 3 rounds tops.

How does Kovalev react when, come the 7th or 8th round of a hypothetical fight, Fonfara (the bigger man) is still coming forward, pumping out his shots, keeping his pace pushed? Kovalev would be walking into a situation that he'd never faced as a professional, with all the chips on the line, against a real one.

I don't think Kovalev has the fortitude to make it.
We all saw how Cleverly reacted to Kovalev's shots, I don't care what he says, Kovalev hits WAY harder than Fonfara does. If you replaced Cleverly's punching power with Kovalev's, Fonfara wouldn't have made it to the 5th with all the shots he was taking.

Fonfara is a great boxer but his defense is far too leaky for him to survive the distance against Killa Kov.

Ever since Fonfara/Campillo, I've held the opinion that Kov would tear him apart. Yesterday's fight with Cleverly just reinforces that opinion. Fonfara would last 7 rounds max.

This is how I know people still underestimate Kovalev. Sergey would beat him within the first five rounds. It wouldn't be hard at all.
Beterbiev also KO's Fonfara. Maybe they should do that fight in Chicago next year. Maybe the people of Chicago would love to see the brutal beating and KO their hero will take.

I think Fonfara could last around 8.

I don't think he'd fight Kovalev the same way he fought Cleverly not even trying to avoid shots.

He'd probably be down a couple of times before the end, like the Stevenson fight, but I don't see him mounting a comeback.

Kovalev's a pretty smart fighter and patient. He'd get Fonfara but I see it as more of a prolonged beating then a blast him out type fight.

Fonfara has the build and style of a guy who should have solid defense, use his range, and get in and out quickly. Unfortunately, he does none of these things and his shoddy defense wouldnot hold up against Kovalev. The guy who beats Kovalev will have slick defense and won't be timid about striking. Young Hopkins would have made an intriguing match but he fought him 10 to 15 years too late.

Kovalev has had the most impressive run of anyone in the past 2-3 years

He has dismantled all kinds of opponents the way Floyd Pac and even GGG haven't.

And some people think Fofara has a chance? Please, Kovalevs beats him up

Such an underrated technical fighter. Uses his jab brilliantly and sets up monster shots.

I like Fonfara, he's a good fighter, tough. But he gets hit too much, and against a big puncher like Kovalev..that spells trouble.

I think Kovalev would stop him.
