It doesn't mean GGG would suck, it means his opponent sucks. Interest is gained with good match up's, not fights where fans know who is going to win and how. Mayweather-Berto did 'poorly' for Mayweather standards, because too many people knew who would win and how.

Spoilers for tomorrow: GGG by stoppage.

all of martinez's later fights were pretty hyped

            before that pavlik

Exaggerating how "dead" middleweight has been "for as long as i can remember"is just another hipster routine. It's been consistently good.

MW PPV's the past 15 years:

              Pavlik-Taylor II - 250k
              Cotto-Martinez - 350k
              Chavez Jr-Martinez - 475k
              De La Hoya-Hopkins - 1,000,0000
              Trinidad-Hopkins - 475k
              Trinidad-Wright - 510k
              Trinidad-Mayorga - 420k
              Hopkins-Taylor - 370k
              Hopkins-Taylor II - 410k
Interesting. Kind of depressing that none of those turned out to be that great. Pavlik-Taylor I was great but I guess Pavlik did not have the name at the time.

so ggg is unproven but at the same time when he's fighting one of the best fighters in the division its not an intriguing matchup because he's such a huge fav? damn you think ggg is amazing. in your hate for him you are proclaiming him so great that no one in his division can even test him. that's not even true of floyd. average maidana gave him fits yet ggg plows through everyone in his division according to you. you are his biggest fan and hater at the same time.

also some people just want to see good exciting fights. i know its strange to hear. you thought people just wanted to see slick boxing with clinching nonstop but no they actually want to see 2 exciting power punches face each other. i'm so sorry they are ruining boxing for you

Haha. Good point. GGG is terrible. Just garbage. The IBF champion? Obviously GGG will kill him. WTF?

There was some upsets there. Winky upset Trinidad, Hopkins upset Trinidad, Cotto upset Martinez, Pavlik-Taylor 2 had a combined 59-1 with 46 KO's and combined wins over Hopkins, Spinks, Miranda, draw vs Winky, McKart. Pavlik vs Miranda when that fight happened it was pretty crazy, cause Miranda had fought Abraham in another crazy MW fight where Abraham fought with a broken jaw and won, although he quit first, but then his corner convinced the ref that he didn't actually quit

Mw was crazy at the time. It's not like that now, none of these guys have any real good wins.
