    because 25 is prime, 22 isn't.

could be.... imo prime depends on the fighters... some hit their prime later on some really early.

        22 is still green, imo.

There's been some great young fighters like Sal Sanchez, Mike Tyson, and Wilfred Benitez but Canelo isn't on that level, time will tell.

            Good analysis. Care to elaborate?

Wishful Thinking; Canelo Gives Cotto A Thorough Beatdown

Matthysse was the unstoppable they said. Canelo, too big, too strong, too youthful, approaching is own prime, as Cotto is on the back end of his better days, Canelo walks right thru Cotto just as he did with Kirkland, bloodies and stops Cotto. Pacquiao knocked him out weighing 145, I don't care who complains he was dried out, or that Freddie wasn't in the corner. He got knocked out. He was pushed around and beaten at '54 by a larger, stronger, more youthful, prime Austin Trout. Team Cotto doesn't talk about either fight. Canelo will blow Cotto up.

Cotto is certainly wiser now. But Martinez was a broken machine and Miguel's subsequent wins were designed to showcase, not test him in any capacity.
Cotto has always had a suspect engine and Alvarez is a kid who knows how to steal gas. Miguel will attempt to box his way to glory and Saul will track him down within 8.

I think the fight will go deep but it will be Cotto that gets KTFO!

Conditioning will play a huge part in this fight. If Cotto decides to try to box and move like he did against Margarito, he might get KO'd in the later rounds. Cotto needs to mix it up and come forward as well as move. This is going to be a good one, but it's hard for me to not pick Canelo. Younger, stronger, and faster of hand.
