Jean Pascal gets knocked out by Sergey Kovalev, barely wins his next fight (against a Gonzalez guy that no one had ever heard of), yet he's supposed to now be able to call up Adonis Stevenson, WBC/lineal LHW champion, for a fight (after already walking away from the bout)?

No mandatory challenger spot, after getting KO'd in Montreal, and he gets Stevenson why?

Hopkins said the exact same thing, that he tried calling Stevenson to work their fight out and Stevenson went missing in action.

So since he didn't have much time left with the belt situation he signed a fight with Kovalev, who said yes right away.

I definitely believe Pascal.

All these other guys at 175 have fought each other. Stevenson is the oddball on the sidelines.

bro pascal was the number 1 to stevenson...instead of negotiating like a man he did so in the media...so haymon would likely only go to purse bid with him which gives stevenson 70 percent...pascal didnt wantt hat so he tried to apply fan pressure..instead it landed him in a fight he really didnt want..

According to Yvon Michel, Jean Pascal chose a "big mouth" strategy to force Stevenson to face him back in 2014. For Stevenson, it's simple. He will not allow Jean Pascal to win $2 million to come up in the ring against him.

Anyhow, for team Duva it was just a commercial prank used to enhance the market value of Kovalev with HBO, as you noticed Kove team rejected the 2 purse bid the WBC ordered following their previous agreement. The first rejection was made when Kovalev had no contract, and the second denial was done when Kovalev was under a new contract with HBO.

Somebody should ask Yvon Michel, who is Jean Pascal; Jean Pascal is not just sneaky in a ring, that's his genetic definition, he is insidious to the core.

It's funny to see how Kovalev fans don't jump at the opportunity to push the Kovalev/Stevenson fight forward. Now that they are in shock to realize that Stevenson is the real predator between the two. It seems like Kove's fans wants this fight never occurs, so they don't lose their silly hopes in Kovalev if he gets blown up by Stevenson, which is exactly how this saga will end my friends.

I wouldn't say less money. Stevenson is paid more per fight than Kovalev and Pascal.

Stevenson is the man who beat the man(chad dawson) who beat the man(Bernard Hopkins)
he has more leverage than ANY 175lber and is actually the one pursuing the fight. i think Stevenson could beat kovalev while he was still being trained by the late great Emmanuel Stewart(RIP) but he's getting older and he's 38now and past his prime and the longer he waits the harder its going to be for Stevenson to beat kovalev who's best weapon to me is john david jackson not anythang kovalev actually has physically. kovalevs TEAM are the ones avoiding the fight. the Stevenson who KO'D chad dawson would easily beat kovalev but this older version of stevenson its hard to tell but he's the REAL champ at LHW and everyone knows it

i think hopkins STILL has a very good chance of beating stevenson

stevensons style is predictable as hell and we've seen hopkins toy with guys who look for one big punch

yes he's slipped but styles still matter more than anything

as far as the 70% and all that... something is up with stevension period... everyone else has an easy time fighting each other, everyone says the exact same thing about him, that he just hung up on them and ended negotiations
