Hopkins said the exact same thing, that he tried calling Stevenson to work their fight out and Stevenson went missing in action.

So since he didn't have much time left with the belt situation he signed a fight with Kovalev, who said yes right away.

All these other guys at 175 have fought each other. Stevenson is the oddball on the sidelines.

Pascal can't get a fight with Adonis because he's trying to get Kovalev but he's not really trying to get Kovalev. He's just fighting guys less talented than Jean Pascal instead and acting like he's some type of big shot.

Stevenson doesnt do any "business". He just fights. He isnt Floyd Mayweather. You cant hammer out a deal by talking directly to him. Pascal knows this, so he should be calling the right people to make his plea.

Plus Adonis offers more cash than fighting Andre Ward, I think Kovalev knows there is a good chance his chin could get checked hard and it will be game over from there.
