Oh no. He's going to beat fighters he's heavily favoured to beat. That will really show me.

Jermain Taylor was undisputed and took on better fighters. Gennady will still be lagging behind.

surely you recognize that going down to 160 to fight the biggest draw in boxing history is different from going to 160 to fight gennady golovkin.

he'd be dead in the water at 160 lbs, but money talks. it's also a fight against a welterweight without power who probably couldn't rock him even if he were drained. golovkin can punch.

Andre Ward was never truly serious about going down to 160lbs to face Floyd Mayweather.

He clarified the tongue-in-cheek comments the next week saying he was never chasing that fight.

Golovkin fans continue to cling onto it doe.

you could stick an 8 figure contract in his face and watch him go bulimic. i don't even have to mention what a win over floyd would ahve done to his drawing power. casuals don't understand weight in boxing at all. he'd still be "the guy who beat merriweather." [intentional spelling ]

floyd's a welterweight. they're naturally 3 weight classes apart. he can't punch hard, and isn't aggressive. ward would almost surely still win the fight in spite of being drained. he'd d**** a shoulder over floyd and walk him to the ropes just by leaning forward. ward's 175+ on fight night at 168, and would have close to 20 lbs on floyd mayweather, if his fight night weights aren't fabricated.

if floyd mayweather offers you a contract, you sign the thing and stop eating.

Yes but that was never going to happen. The whole world knew that and Andre Ward knew that.

It was a tongue-in-cheek comment made because of a mini-beef they had over the Guerrero fight. An absolute non-story that Golovtards are hugging harder than GGG's bollox/

His own fans don't think he's a great fighter. He'll go down in history as a decent middleweight beltholder. Probably below the likes of Jermain Taylor.
The same could be said of ward...the big career defining fights for him are at 175

Andre Ward has already beaten better fighters at 168lbs than Golovkin will likely ever beat at 160.

And he has said that he will move up to 175lbs. There have already been discussions with Kovalev's people.

You don't see him acting like a b1tch asking Kovalev for catchweights.

I give ward credit for the super six(even though he refused to travel)...but i think you're over rating his smw competition in the context of how it will look historically. If golovkin cleans out the mw division the names on his resume might look better over time. As far as ward not asking kovalev for any catchweight, let them start negotiating first. If he doesn't take tune ups at lhw, i wouldn't be surprised if he does ask for a catchweight.

atlantic city is 3000 miles [5000 KM] from oakland!

it's not much further from oakland than it is from nottingham.

i'm just going to repeat that again. oakland, CA is not much further from atlantic city than it is from nottingham, england.

you don't know anything about america if you think atlantic city is the "hometown" of a guy who grrew up in oakland, 3000 miles away.
