A question for Andre Ward fans

It's an absolute moot point and completely irrelevant to the discussion.Comment

according to who? you?
i was replying to another poster originally.
people brought up that he'd go to 160 to fight mayweather and not golovkin. i explained why.
it's absolutely relevant to talk about why that is, and what ward would do in that situation compared to what he's apparently unwilling to do with golovkin.Comment

Because he knew it would never happen. It was tongue-in-cheek.according to who? you?

Golovkin fans are comparing it to him saying he'd go to 168 for Froch and Chavez but not Ward. Those were fights that legitimately could have happened. There was a signed contract for Chavez.
Comparing Ward having a bit of a banter talking about fighting Mayweather to Golovkin's willingness to fight certain fighters at 168 but not Ward is irrelevant.Comment

I didn't say anything about his home town. And yea...cuz fighting in a different city in your counrty is the same as going overseas into another guys backyard, like the rest of the super six fighters did.atlantic city is 3000 miles [5000 KM] from oakland!
it's not much further from oakland than it is from nottingham.
i'm just going to repeat that again. oakland, CA is not much further from atlantic city than it is from nottingham, england.
you don't know anything about america if you think atlantic city is the "hometown" of a guy who grrew up in oakland, 3000 miles away.Comment

I don't think it was that Tongue-in-cheek, he's said before he can make 160lb's, albiet with some difficulty.
Maybe he wanted to retract it a bit because he didn't want to seem like he was hunting for Floyd, being a big fan of the guy.
If there was any signs that Mayweather wanted to go to 160 or would fight Ward at said weight, he'd cut down without arguement and he might show up like Dawson, but Floyd would not be able to do much about it.Comment

Golovkin fans latch onto tongue-in-cheek comments hard because actual wins are hard to boast about.Comment

He's being realistic in not expecting a fight with Mayweather at 160 and that's intelligent of him, same with Hopkins, they'd love it, but realistically, it's just not happening and you look like a loser calling for that fight because Floyd isn't coming up. It doesn't mean he wouldn't do it if it was a possibility which is what I am saying, since Ward has said he can make 160.Comment
