As for Gatti he holds the key at 147 because should he beat Baldy he will be recognized as the linear champ. Hes not going to fight PBF again so unfortunatly for u and him PBF will have to wait and see what Gatti does before PBF can claim the true title that Gatti should he be victorious will rightly posses. SO why that happens PBF Hatton, Margarito, and possbly spinks and Tszyu will be fighting for the right to be the next champ after Gatti

I like Gatti. I love the heart and spirit this guy has. But, realistically he should avoid fighting anymore and retire. I would hate to see him get beat in the ring any more. His last fight should have been against PBF. He looked horrible in that fight, but maybe that is what PBF does to people.

In my opinion I think 147 is going to revolve around Gatti. NOW HOLD UP! So that is really what it comes down to at 147 if Gatti beats Baldy it gonna be up to him on how many defense he makes before he vacates the title. In the mean time what should happen is after Collazo Hatton should fight Spinks and Mayweather should fight Margarito and the winner of those 2 should fight for the eventual linear title at 147 that Gatti will vacate

First off, Gatti is not the Key to 147lbs. There is no interest in seeing him fight PBF again. The key to 147lbs will be Margarito, PBF, Hatton and Cotto (only has Paulie and 1 other fight at 140lbs). Dont get me wrong Gatti is great to watch, but he is B level skills with an A heart. Gatti is the Rudy of boxing. He gets crushed by elite fighters and unlike PBF the others on the list have real power and can really hurt Gatti.

Cotto ain't beatin' Gatti, he's too slow with his hands and his chin ain't that great. I know Gatti ain't a great fighter, but he'd be there the whole fight if that's what it took, kind of like Castillo will be. If Gatti went into that fight not trying to be SRR, it would only take a few rounds to wear Cotto down and get him out of there, that is, if Cotto managed to avoid his hooks for that long.

i posted that in another thread like this one, thats the biggest favor that the human high light reel can give himself and us, the fans. baldy will be no walk in the park - the guys rugged and if gatti gets out of that unscathed, then he should push for a huge (main events can make any gatti defense huge) fight against the winner of the cintron/estrada fight - win lose or draw he'll go out on his shield and make a good payday.

but it'll be a sad day, if main events pits him w/ either pbf, cotto, margarito, hatton or judah. however, i doubt that happens because carl moretti wanted nothing more than to avoid mayweather and it was gatti who thought he could do something, moretti, a smart business man, if he "loves" gatti like a brother like he says he does, wont put him in w/ the aforementioned.

I think if he faces Hatton, he'll lose like Zoo did maybe from a cut or a swollen eye, just because of the workrate Hatton can sustain. I think if he faced Margarito, he'd lose because Margarito is just too rangy and has power. I think if he faced Castillo, he could very well lose because of Castillo's chin and stamina, but it could be a very competetive fight. But Cotto?

IMHO, Cotto's only chance is to cut Gatti early and get them to stop it, otherwise Gatti will be too much for Cotto. They are both basically skilled brawlers, and I'd easily give the skill edge to Gatti. I agree that Gatti has never been and never will be a great fighter, and he'd probably lose to pretty much everyone you mentioned, but I just can't see Cotto beating him, he just has too many flaws in his defense.
