In his mid-30's there's no waiting for new competition to come down the pipe. What does that leave him with? Journeymen @ 160. Some people get off on that but I really hoped to see him face top guys some day. Maybe we'll get lucky and Canelo will fight him. That's just one match to look forward to though.
He was willing to go up for Froch, who was #1, and shut out current #1 Abe, 12-0

Not NO but HELL NO! at least fight some competition, he was willing to go up to fight chavez jr and Froch at 168 but not Ward....You know whos trying to push him.... Fight a bunch of cans and YOU can be a champion Havent heard anyone in person talk about getting this ppv. NOONE, NOT ONE. It will look like the ********** national convention. lol I guess after being on this site and hearing all the bs, boxing has lost me for a while...

Boxing for me is more about wanting to see 'my guy' win its about being impressed in a gladiator fashion I want the fighter to take risks and go for the kill so to speak.
Mayweather REALLY hurt the sport. I loved watch him fight but let's be real, his retirement is a huge win for boxing.

Let's hope GGG, Canelo, Wilder, Joshua, Spence, Thurman, Gonzalez, Crawford etc do more exciting things with it..

That is pathetic to even bring up him trying to go after Froch when he was semi-retired and saying he doesn't think he has it in him anymore. Genady was trying to pick Carl's bones. Nothing brave or admirable about that.

i wonder if golovkin would be getting so much love from casuals if he looked like provodnikov. just goes to show that a bit of boyish charm goes a long way

Yes, but that's good, you expect it to be competetive but then a TKO happens, those are the best. We all expect for GGG to steamroll Lemiuex with ease. Canelo/Cotto is 50-50 or so, definitely the fight to recommend to family and friends to tune in.
Plus you have one of boxing most storied rivalries Mexico vs Puerto Rico ..

I have to agree with GGG Lemiuex I expect it to be a little competitive then I just see GGG taking over
