GGG does not owe Ward anything. He should unify 160 and then the other fighters will move up to fight him. If GGG moves up, he loses a bit of edge in power and honestly, Ward would want the fight in Oakland and would want to call all the shots. GGG does not need to pull a Hagler against Leonard and give every concession up just to get the fight and lose. Then no matter what he does, you can say Ward is better. If the roles were reversed, would you be saying that Ward should move up to face GGG? There is an easy solution. Ward moves up to fight Kovalev. GGG can dominate 160 for the next few years and there is talent that will move up and come along. Big drama show. Haha
GGG seems to be a good solid fighter,i do not hate him

He's 33. MW is his natural weight and he is not a big middleweight. He owes a lot of success to the fact that after the Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik era the division got a lot smaller. Unless he has trouble with beer and partying he is not moving up further.Last edited by GTTofAK; 10-13-2015, 03:54 PM.Comment

You're absolutely right, team ggg has made it clear they don't want to fight ward. Time for Ward to do business elsewhereI don't think it's smart for Ward's team to wait on GGG. GGG's team seems content with aiming for Undisputed Middleweight.
If Ward moves up before Golovkin unifies then the names I really want to see on Golovkin's resume are:
DeGale
Quillin
Andy Lee
Canelo
Badou Jack
Gilberto Ramirez (after he matures more)
Dirrell brothersComment

So a fighter with ZERO quality wins is elite? Man you're standards are lowComment

Tremendous post.I'm a Rigo fan and am skeptical of his age, punch resistance and inside fighting ability.
I'm a Lara fan and I am skeptikal about his ability to vary his attack on offense and inability to fight inside.
I'm a Lomachenko fan and I am skeptikal about his inability to fight inside and I am not happy with his opposition this year.
I'm a Crawford fan and have been extremely disappointed with the opposition he's faced this year.
I'm a Chocolatito fan but still question his level of opposition and get the feeling that he is pricing himself out to avoid Estrada.
There is a fine line between being a fan of a fighter and recognizing a fighters' skill versus **** riding, defending everything he does and complaining about every criticism about him.Comment

I never said Cotto nor Canelo should not fight him man..this is not a bash GGG threadThe point is that if you want GGG to fight in a higher division, you can't excuse Cotto/Canelo when people are asking the same thing you are (when both are technically fighting in the MW division for a few years now and only need to move up 5 pounds).
If you don't want Cotto/Canelo to move up, fair enough. Then you can't ask the same for Golovkin.Comment

lol @ calling Canelo a smaller fighter than GGG when he weighs more than /close to GGG. This is why you guys get called racists/idiots. It's either one or the other (although maybe some of you are legitimate trolls).
A Ward fight wouldn't be possible until early 2017.
Lemieux --> October 2015
Canelo --> May 2016
Last belt @ 160 (Andy Lee?) --> October-December? 2016
Meaning, no fight with Ward until 2017-- and even then, who's to say GGG won't take a tune up fight or two at 168? Or how about, taking time to gain weight? He'll be near 34 years old, so putting on muscle mass will take several months depending on the weight he will gain, and assuming he doesn't use steroids. He'd probably want to gain at least 5-6 pounds, meaning 5-6 months of bulking.
Meaning, a fight with Ward could be pushed back to early 2018.
So, we should all call Andre Ward a coward if he doesn't fight Kovalev by then, right???Last edited by UNBIASED BOXING; 10-13-2015, 04:56 PM.Comment
