  • Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Expects To Start Training in November, December

Manny Pacquiao says his surgically repaired shoulder is 80-90 percent healed, and he expects to resume training in November or December.

He said Monday that he could return to the ring in March, acknowledging that Amir Khan was a possible opponent but adding no decision had been made.

He didn't hurt his shoulder, so how can a non-injury be 80 - 90% healed?

      The injury about nothing

Funny how Manny never received a medical suspension from Nevada state athletic commission. How is that possible if the injury was real? Lol be smart, people. Lol

Precisely. But all one need do is watch the press conference again and look at the face(s) of a beaten Manny and a dejected Freddie Roach. A hurt shoulder was all they could pull out of their bag of tricks to save face after an embarrassing performance like that. More than being a fighter Manny is a brand, and a loss to Mayweather on any level hurts that brand. Bob spent a lot of time, money, and energy building Manny up, and Mayweather was a frequent foil in that endeavor.

When you tell a big lie, you gotta ride the train to the end of the line....

Just pull a Floyd, pick a Berto or something of the like. Have the fight back home and call it a career whether you win the senate seat or not. Boxing needs to move on from these two guys.

No disrespect cuz but that would make sense if they hadn't tried to get a shot for it before the fight or hadn't stopped his camp for like two weeks. He got beaten that's undeniable but all these theories about a shoulder injury? He got flat out robbed vs Bradley and took that like a man why would he fake an injury over a 9 figure payday? Losing has never actually hurt his stock.

What you're saying would only make sense if the information coming out of that camp wasn't controlled by Bob Arum. Also, when a guy is in pain, or some kind of discomfort they show it in some way, whether it's by silently favoring the shoulder, or not enthusiastically throwing and raising your arms above your head. Bro, seeing is believing and Pacquiao did not fight like he had an injured shoulder. His corner never mentioned it before or during the fight, nothing was said until after the embarrassing loss.

Does that make sense to you?

There's gonna be a lot of talk about Floyd and Amir, but in the end, I think it will be Crawford or maybe Sadam Ali, either one @ 144. I really don't think Arum wants to deal with Haymon, but I think Haymon has given his guys the green light! I doubt Manny fights anyone @ 147.

Man, I'm not sure that you're giving enough credit to the adrenaline factor. Biggest fight of a person's life, entire nation on his shoulders, and he already has an extremely high pain threshold (as does Floyd). Pain is all in your head. It's once you start fixating on it that it hits like a bomb. I think of innumerable examples of this, but a classic boxing one is when gatti breaks his right hand against ward in the third fight. Not only does he tough it out, but he starts throwing it with ferocity again several rounds later.
Was pac's shoulder injury as major as they're claiming? Who knows? My guess is no. But they did request the shot BEFORE the fight and he had to quit sparring during a peak week. Roach even voiced concern publicly.
Facts are facts. The rest is just conjecture.

A couple of months back, both Arum and Pacquiao made comments indicating that Manny had 3 fights left.

Call me a skeptic, but I still believe that to be the case.

I believe the recent reports of Pacs pending retirement have been " exaggerated ".

I believe that they will fight a " Berto "..... and then regardless as to the result of the election next year, Manny will " decide " to fight on.

                    Just imho, could be wrong.
