    Flaws in Stevenson's game.

What would you say are some flaws in his game? I think he tends to lunge, and he doesn't set up his left hand.

Well put. I agree. I enjoyed his fight with Fonfara.
I strongly believe Ward will beat him if they ever fight. That other Pole who got Huck has a shot at stoping Adonis.

Look at the Karpency fight. He just paws with the right, not using it to set up his left.

What do you think of Fonfara? I like his determination.

He's a bit one-dimensional, low on ideas, adjustments. If he can catch you with the left, you're in trouble, but if not he still just keeps on throwing it anyway. Against Fonfara in particular he seemed to run out of ideas. The lesser opponents he's been facing aren't good enough to fully take advantage but Ward or Kovalev would.

There are a lot of flaws in Stevenson's game but while his reflexes stay with him, he can continue to make those mistakes. Plus he still possesses immense power and I think he actually sets up the left very well, although it becomes repetitive. The moment AS' reflexes desert him, any decent fighter with good pop will take him out.

He actually does a pretty great job setting up his left hand; he just does it in a manner that most other fighters don't do. He occasionally uses the jab, but he largely sets things up behind feints and how he moves his feet.

If you could point to any real "flaw", it'd be the fact that he's so unconventional. The Fonfara fight was as rugged as it was because, for the most part, Fonfara is an extremely sound fundamental fighter, while also being big as ****.

Sheer size, rock-solid chin, high guard, active jab behind super straight punches.

Sans that, Stevenson likely wrecks you.

His lunging indeed. However, I see his willingness to lunge and show careless aggression to be a proble for Kovalev. I wouldn't say Stevenson beats him, but it's much closer than most will admit. Adonis is not going to stand around letting Kovalev bully him and he can take advantage of Kovalev's marginal defensive skills through pure force. We saw flashes of that from the far less skilled Pasqual.

Ward and Stevenson would be gritty as hell, like Ward-Bika, but Stevenson isn't clever enough to get the edge on Andre. Not enough tools in his arsenal.
