People really do underestimate Canelo's ability to counter, at times he barely missed Mayweather and Cotto doesn't those kind of reflexes. I'm still leaning towards Canelo but this is anyone's fight.

I don't understand the hate Duran gets in this. He's an ATG with a right to an opinion. People are forgetting even Tito Trinidad is picking Canelo to oust Cotto. This doesn't mean I don't love Duran and Tito any less.

        Geesh.

Being weight drained is not an excuse especially in this case, Canelo wanted to fight Floyd in 2012 at 150, and u can find that out by a quick google search, Floyd fought him 1 year later at 152, Canelo had 10 weeks to lose the weight and he was an active fighter, it's not like he was coming off a layoff, he weighed in at 153.5 against Trout 4-5 months earlier anyways, and he's a young guy that wasn't forced to fight Floyd for the check if he knew he wasn't gonna be a 100%, he was already the lineal champion so he shouldn't have taken the fight unless he was sure he was going to win. If Canelo was drained then that's his problem, he didn't train hard enough or didn't lose the weight in a smart way, and this is nobody's fault except him, nobody forced him to sign the contract at 152.

An almost criminal case of weight draining is Dela Hoya vs Pacquiao, Dela Hoya had to come down 7 damn pounds to fight at a weight he hasn't fought at in 9 years, the man was almost dead before the fight and he couldn't even rehydrate, and u can use the weight here as an excuse because Dela Hoya was fighting for the paycheck, he was at the end of his career and wanted to cash out so he just complied cuz he didn't care about winning, but Cotto for example wasn't against Pacquiao, and it was only 2 pounds, so weight draining is not an excuse here.

Hopkins fought Dela Hoya at 156, a weight he never made before in his career, and he still KOed Dela Hoya, Porter also beat Broner at a weight he never made before. NO EXCUSES.
I agree it was canelo' s fault taking the lower weight option....no one made him do it......you was trying compare mayweather to cotto..and its a completely different fight......floyd remained sharp against canelo all through 12 rounds...I don't think cotto at his age can be on his toes for 12 rounds moving because I think it's really the only way he can beat canelo.....I think canelos youth and power will be the to much for cotto if cotto can't be mobile for 12 rounds.....cotto I think will get busted up .....its a close fight and cotton advantage is movement and if can't maintian that ..then he loses a late stoppage

Your comments above ....if that's not comparing canelo fight with mayweather I don't know what is......you must have a very short and non absorbent memory lol

Cotto will outbox Canelo, and will show him what is up with movement and angles. Canelo will get his face pushed in and #KingCotto will stop him under 10rds.

#WarCotto will show all his haters how is done.

                First:

Canelo gases as much or more than Cotto

                Second:

It goes both ways, you think that Canelo will be able to handle #WarCotto power if he gases? He is flat footed and has little movement as its...Canelo will get stopped if he gases and you could bet your two homes, car and unicorn that #KingCotto stops him under 10rds!

Will Canelo be mandated to fight GGG. Yes!

Will Ward be fighting two divisions above MW. Yes.

Doesn't Ward hold a mandate for GGG to fight him? No.

Has Ward turned down GGG in the past? Yes!

There isn't much more to say!

I do love Canelo threads, the man rehydrates to 175, but says he is a Jr.MW.

GGG rehydrates to 171, and is a MW.

                  Enough said!
lol at the mandatory excuse, ggg fans had been calling out canelo way before he was in line for a MW title, and ward fans had been calling out ggg from a while too, if you have to wait until an organism forces you to fight, well then that doesnt say much about you, and by the way a lil while back canelo was asked about a fight with ggg, again he had nothing to do with a title, he clearly said, i will fight ggg when i get to MW, but the fight can happen before if he drops a little... then months later abel sanchez goes out and says ggg wont drop a single pound for canelo but will go 154 for floyd, that was all without titles on the line...
and chavez junior is a lot bigger than ward, ggg was man enough to fight him, just not ward...
anyone from 154 to 168... (some exclusions may apply)...

Not exactly news, Canelo is the favorite in the fight by a decent amount. He'll also have a built-in fan base of Mexicans who will back him to the end.

But THE star of boxing? Hard to say..
