Only a seriously biased fan or Wlad hater would think Wlad's jab is overrated.

I can't stand Wlad and even I know his jab is petrifying.. it ****ing knocked down a well known KING Povetkin, Povetkin was never knocked down in his career before that lol

Wlad's is different than Vitali but certainly not better. Vitali was able to use such odd angles and and still get more power on it, basically making his opponents helpless so that he didn't need to clinch as frequently as Wlad. Vitali had an ugly but arguably even more effective jab.

He has a great jab.

It's not as good as it used to be as he has started pawing with it a bit too much, but it's still good. It's not as dominant as some make out though, plenty of guys slip it and/or get inside the jab, it's just that Wlad's excessive clinching makes the jab look even more effective.

You either stay outside and get hit with the jab or you get grabbed in a bearhug-like clinch which refs somehow allow.

I disagree.wlads jab is much more educated and more powerful. vitali used his great reflexes and his height to keep his opponents at bay more so than his jab. if wlad fought his same style with vitali's jab hed be in serious trouble. theyre brothers but completely different in style

personally,,,,,I think wlad has resorted to the clinching more lately becuz hes lost that great jab as hes aged. same thing with hopkins. he didnt employ the clinching tactics till some of his skills eroded
