his jab used to be underrated but not as much today. back in his early to mid career it was an awesome punishing jab. watch his fight with shulz. his jab that night was all time great. he doesnt snap it out as much anymore and often paws with it. not sure if its age or not but he still controls distance with it well

It used to be great but he clinches more than jabs nowadays; he just can't control guys the way he used to. Watch the Haye fight then watch the Povetkin fight (if you can bear it). The difference is night and day.

I still picked the top option since it's been such a dominant part of his game for so long and it'd be unfair to label it average, but I think a lot of people are living in the past as regards its current effectiveness. Wlad's jab, like a lot of his game, has regressed with age.

So in short you're saying Wlad is not the force he was ? I take it this is a reason you have Fury to win, I'm just wondering if Wlad actually wins where does that leave your estimations of Fury after the 28th of November ?

Wlad is pawing with the jab. He does it every fight. He hardly sticks it out and snaps a guys head back. It's definitely not the best jab in boxing and it's not pretty either.

It's good for what he uses it for, which is basically to keep his opponent at bay, because he doesn't want to engage. That's it. Very rarely he sets up the right hand with it.

As I said, good. But nowhere near the greatest jab in history or whatever some guys have said in this thread.

It's as solid a jab as they come, I'm not sure which is more punishing the powering jab or the ram rod straight right.

Neither. His hook is his best punch IMO. Notice in most of his fights that his right hand doesn't finish, his hook does? It's just a better punch for him.

Excellent jab and I don't understand where the notion that it doesn't land is coming from. He lands his jab a lot. He controls his fights with one hand. Does he paw a lot? Sure. Many good jabbers do. With his size though it's difficult to take advantage when he does paw.

I don't think his jab is the best of all time but you didn't have the option of inbetween where I'd say his jab is one of the best in the sport but of all time I don't think so but still regardless he throws it very well.
I'd rate him as one of the most intelligent fighters of this era, sometime you don't need to have the best power, boxing ability when you can just outright outwit/outsmart your opponent.
