Trust me the bigger fight right now is Ward vs Golovkin not Canelo... That's a much more competitive fight but if Lil G gonna use the excuse that Ward is very little reward then why can't Canelo do the same? He doesn't need Golovkin to become a PPV star he already is so F~ck Lil G let him fight all the bums he's been fighting until he man up and fights Ward

Ward's the most competitive fight for Golovkin, but he's far from being a quarter as lucrative as Canelo.
As for Andre Ward's lawyer, this guy is incompetent. He lost 3x to Goosen's lawyer simply because he doesn't know how to read a contract. He sent a letter to HBO which Ward later denied. Now he's making threats in public when there's likely evidence against him.Comment

If Ward's such a viable market option then why is he on BET in front of 325k tv viewers and comping 5,000 tickets for his fight? The biggest fight of his career was Dawson, and the gate & tv was on par with Golovkin's stay busy fight vs Monroe.

Everyone keeps saying that GGG has to prove himself great by fighting in another weight class... Why does this not apply equally to Andre Ward? He has never extended himself by fighting top opponents at their weight class.Comment

There's 2 sides to every story so I'm not going to cheerlead but Abel Sanchez does need to STFU. He's the one that put the 154-168 comment out there in the public, said Willie Monroe was more know than Lara and keeping the talks of a potential Ward fight alive.
Right now GGG has a lineup of winnable big money fight possibilities. Why move up and take an L that will kill that momentum? It's the May/Pac business strategy. Ride the money train until the fans get tired of it and only fight each other when forced to.
I like what Ward is doing. He kept his mouth shut, called their bluff, and is now moving on to face a bigger challenge in Kovalev. His inactivity was frustrating and not fighting Dawson at 175 didn't sit well with me but he looks to be headed back in the right direction.
Yep basically may/pac 2.0Comment

Ward is only the most competitive fight available if it happens at 168 or above and on Ward's terms. If Ward was to come down to GGG's division and fight at 160, the way Ward has always forced his opponents to do for him, then it would be no more competitive than any other fight, if not less so.

Ward's desperate, he doesn't want to fight Kovalev and he doesn't want to make concessions to Golovkin either. It's why he sent a disingenuous offer to Golovkin that he knew would get rejected so he could save face. My guess is if he does sign the HBO contract, fights 2-3 easy LHW's, he'd then retire before fighting Kovalev.
HBO needs to be smart and back load that contract!Comment

GGG is a coward yet Ward ducking the logical opponent and big money fight in Kovalev is honorable. The fear is there for sure, so blatant there isn't a tarp big enough to cover it up.Comment

It does. It's why Ward's career is a sorry joke these days. It's why his promoters just lost $2mill on his last fight.

If Ward wanted Kovalev, then why doesn't he fight him now like he's asking Golovkin to do for him? Kovalev and Ward are both free right now. Instead he wants to fight Azea Augustama and then 2 more guys like that?Comment
