They've explained their reasoning 100 times already. Both Froch and Chavez Jr were big events at the time. The move to 168 for either of them would be worth the risk at that time. Moving to 168 for a fighter coming off a 2yr layoff layoff and whom lacked very little fan interest wasnt worth the risk.

It's a formula that Floyd practically built his career on.

I just dropped by to say that and also to say how GGG is on his way to breaking Hopkins record, Wilfredo Gomez record, and becoming the unified middleweight champion.

the fantasy fight gets more comments than the fight he has scheduled...and that fight is a ppv....the truth is this fight is huge and one side is cowarding..while the other side says go ahead i'll continue my career elsewhere..doesnt matter if its tune up or not..only thing that matters is that it is not ggg, but it could be if ggg wanted it to be

It's a flat out lie to say a Ward fight lacks fan interest. That they are asked so often about the fight is proof that plenty of people care.

The only fights for Golovkin with more fan interest than Ward are Cotto and Alvarez.

sorry but floyd has fought basically every number in the p4p rankins..time period cant matter if they are in the rankigns they are doing something good or great right then and there....GGG has yet to do it once..dont compare hype to validation please

i still believe to this day if ggg didnt entertain chavez jr or froch at 168, people wouldnt bring up ward. the reason why is because in the real boxing fan's mind, any 160 fighter who was interested in moving up to 168 wanting to fight the best would have been held to the same standard. if that fighter chose to fight the 2nd best, wed question why the second best especially when the best fighter has already beaten the 2nd best soundly.

Can you name boxers who moved up in weight and immediately took on the #2 P4P guy? Even then Froch and Chaves are two tough mofos. I don't even think GGG would beat those guys. They're the equivalent of Maidana in Broner's case. And, incidentally, Broner called out top fighters in the ww division, but never got bashed for it. Funny part was guys like Guerrero and Khan called his bluff and backtracked. Andre Ward did nothing. Didn't call GG's bluff. Nothing.

That's why this whole Froch/Chaves thing is silly to me. Much ado about nothing.

Another funny part was Ward was in a headline calling out Mayweather for a fight at 160. Haha...

Harcore fans no. Most casuals either forgot or didnt really know who Ward is. The guy cant sell out his own home town for christ sakes. That should tell you something about the interest to see him.

Yes he's a great talent. Probably top 3 pfp right now. Still doesnt change the fact that there's little demand for him at the moment outside of hardcore fans. A few exciting wins against some familiar opponents can change that.

I hear you but my post was pretty much sarcasm since the people here instead of hating loeffler and sanchez go overboard hating Golovkin. I have yet to see the guy talk any level of shhh. I can understand if he himself was the one saying things but man...this guilty by association business on this site is just ******.
