Exactly. It is people around these boxers that throw names around and before you know it, boxer A is calling out boxer B in a headline news when the truth is it's an answer to a question. This has been happening for years. I'm not necessarily objecting to it, especially when it results into a real fight in the ring. But if the only purpose is to make one fighter look good and the other bad, then you're just creating chaos and animosity where there was none previously.

I can almost guarantee that Ward never came out of any member of GG's team's mouth until one idiot threw his name while promoting their fight. And why Ward? Why not Sturm, Martinez when he was active, Quillin, Cotto, fighters in his division?

the fantasy fight gets more comments than the fight he has scheduled...and that fight is a ppv....the truth is this fight is huge and one side is cowarding..while the other side says go ahead i'll continue my career elsewhere..doesnt matter if its tune up or not..only thing that matters is that it is not ggg, but it could be if ggg wanted it to be

              What's corny about unification fights?

The fight is sht because it's not a runner pitty patting his overmatched opponent on the outside and clinching him on the inside? Both guys come to fight here, and Golovkin is the favourite, favourites get upset all the time, either way, guaranteed fireworks and the unification makes it an important event.

They've explained their reasoning 100 times already. Both Froch and Chavez Jr were big events at the time. The move to 168 for either of them would be worth the risk at that time. Moving to 168 for a fighter coming off a 2yr layoff layoff and whom lacked very little fan interest wasnt worth the risk.

It's a formula that Floyd practically built his career on.

u can hate on floyd all u want but 5 weight classes 4 lineal titles bro...normally always the lighter man in the ring...GGG doesnt have the balls to be that

and as far as ur "unification" argument...titles lost integrity in this sport long ago..only time ppl talk about them is to praise hype..when we talk great fights we never really worry about the belts involved in it....during may pac no one was thinkin about wbc wba or wbo....they try to sell u on belts when the fight is not good enough tho....like "but david is a champion"..

but u right it could be a war, both man's defense is poop so we'll see...but soem ppl claim ggg has a great defense then they say "war"...name a fighter with great defense that gets into "wars"

It's a flat out lie to say a Ward fight lacks fan interest. That they are asked so often about the fight is proof that plenty of people care.

The only fights for Golovkin with more fan interest than Ward are Cotto and Alvarez.
