Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: Ward Looking Less and Less Likely

Carson, California- While Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and his team are content with unifying all of the titles at 160 pounds, many fans are asking the WBA/IBO middleweight champion to move up next year and fight super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) - if GGG can’t land a fight with Miguel Cotto or Canelo Alvarez. Ward has told the media that he offered a offered a fight to Golovkin with a purse split of 50-50.

Ward is KOVALEV's dance partner. GGG's team needs to GTFO with trying to steal Kovalev's opponent.

        GGG-Ward: Will not Happen
Kovalev-Ward: Will (if Ward finally moves up to 175 from the newly established 172lb division)

"The fight doesn't make business sense"

Even though it would be the best name on ggg's limited resume.

          smh glory or money?

Yeah this sounds like more BS excuses... If Wards offer was late, why didn't they accept, pending GGG beating Lemieux. Then the ball would be back in Wards court. Ward been sittin on his azz for the past few years I'm sure he wouldn't mind waiting a little longer

Translation: thank you lord ward has the balls to step up and move up in weight to fight Krusher something we don't want to do and keep the story of unifying the weakest division in boxing like that's a huge accomplishment

There is more glory and much more money in unifying the middleweight division than fighting Ward.

I hope you will judge your boy Cotto by the same standards you apply to Golovkin, when the time comes.
