Beterbiev is a big guy and could really benefit from those few extra pounds.
It has to be at 175 to be an IBF final eliminator.

Ward has avoided PED testing. Was one of the reasons he refused to fight Abraham in Germany is that Sauerland Events at that time was in a contract requiring OST for all fighters on their cards there?

How would Ward react to doing VADA testing? Would he be strong enough to clamp and clinch Kovalev without PEDs?
Tunney, stop the BS. Kathy has specifically stated she doesn't believe in advanced PED testing. Kov has never used VADA and didn't use it for Pascal. He didn't "want it" Kathy tried to save face in a twitter war after Pascal used hisregular testing.

Given the above, it is legitimate to ask how she reacts now that she has to pay for it since HBO is making all their guys do VADA testing.

Again: she wanted VADA testing for the Pascal fight.

So did Gonzalez accept? The deadline was supposed to be yesterday, but heard nothing.
Now I hear that Gonzalez has until today to accept, but will most likely decline.
          Let's see what happens.

You know the truth, she asked Pascal to pay for it . She didn't "want it" as you claime. This further legitimizes the question I asked King.

Yeah, they are going to build to ward v Kov.

How do you think Kathy reacts when HBO forces Kov to do VADA testing and forces Kathy to pay for it?
I honestly can't fully remember the whole VADA testing situation with Kovalev/Duva/Pascal, what exactly happened again?

But with that said: She BETTER pay for it. Look Kovalev is a clean and honest fighter, there is no reason for him to not be tested if it's required. Kovalev openly said he's willing to get tested for every fight.

HOWEVER, I have said for a while now that Kovalev should drop Duva/Main Events. Look they did a fantastic job by giving him a chance- taking EVERY fight against ANYONE who would fight him at the beginning and moving him up the rankings and getting with HBO in the first place and signing that title fight with Cleverly. Now obviously nothing should happen now because the Ward fight is realistic and likely- but after that fight, I would like to see Kovalev leave Duva and explore other options. Mainly because I think Kovalev's success got to Duva's head recently and shes been annoying the hell out of everyone.

HBO is the standard for boxing- but Kovalev would be an absolute superstar with Haymon- can you imagine him putting on his ferocious performances against TOP opposition on free-American TV? He would blow up. (IMO.)

Kovalev should sign with Haymon. (ONLY AFTER WARD) Adonis, Beterbiev, Fonfara.... He'll get all those fights, and if he got those after and if he beat Ward, those would be the legacy fights he needs. There's nothing left on HBO for the 175lb division after Ward. Except maybe Gonzalez and he can fight anywhere.

This is all purely hypothetical at this point and so much has to happen, but like I said, I would honestly like for Kovalev to sign with Haymon after a possible Ward fight.

(and no. I'm not saying Kovalev ducked Adonis' "the second time" or Kovalev is at fault for signing a stable, lucrative deal with HBO, etc). He's fine right now.

good post. If you remember I was one of the first that said Kov was clean (and GGG) when that ******ed PED thread popped up. That BS with Pascal was silly.

Kov can't help that Kathy is cheap. She also apparently exaggerated about the Russian billionaires she was working with.

Network deals used to expand the guys you could fight, now all it does it limit who you can fight. I would hope Kov doesn't resign his HBO deal.

A move to K2, Haymon or Dibella would be good for his future.

Whenever the ward or Stevenson fights get made, a litte e money bet between us is necessary.

Who knows if the free tv thing is even going to be around in 2 years time? Also, as brilliant as Haymon is with making moves, he still hasn't developed a star. With his current system of using sham promoters that don't risk any of their own money, its unlikely to happen soon. Now maybe if Shaeffer comes back into the mix as a real promoter, then this could be a possibility.

Where'd you see that? I haven't seen much about the fight progression, but crazy if he turns down the opportunity. Only other big fight would be Ward

The deadline was extended by one day.

Gonzalez has until noon today to accept the IBF title eliminator fight against Beterbiev. My guess is if he wanted the fight he would have responded already.

Apparently, next in line would be Karo Murat.
