Molina an Ortiz were the best guys he was offered by Haymon and he complaining saying that he felt they were not at the top level.

Back to your question, Broner was a big favourite and was the one who rejuvenated Chino's career. He also made Porter make 144 and Porter was coming off a bad performance vs Bone and a loss vs Brook. DSG was also the underdog but also the lineal champ on top of the world and Postol was the number 1 for A reason. All 4 are very respectable.
Broner has taken tough fights. So has Lucas. Broner lost fights, so has Lucas. Lucas has fought and defeated better people at 140 than Broner has. Broner has gone up in weight, Lucas has not.

This weekend Broner's title fight was easier than Matts title fight. No question. While politics in the sport is an issue, the far bigger problem for Matts is the things he lacks and his inability to defeat top tier fighters.

but at least the writer acknowledged that to be a champ at any division u at least have to be a good fighter... this seems to escape the minds of a lot of these posters who think anyone who loses or struggles in a professional fight with another professional fighter is a bum and u can be a bum and a champ at the same time...
Good post, anyone who EARNS or even wins a title shot does not deserve to be called a bum; extremely ignorant and disrespectful.

What's the bigger accomplishment, losing to Muhammad Ali or beating Butterbean?

              I'll wait.

On second thought I won't, we know some of you guys are a little slow.

Mattysee gets more props for reaching the upper echelon of the division. Broner doesn't because he's not fighting the best and hasn't made it to the top.

Being #2 in the Major league is still better than #1 in the minor leagues.

Placing Silver in the Olympics is still better than getting Gold in a Regional Tournament.

But really lets stop comparing the two one is a prize fighter (Lucas) and the other is a side show (Broner).

Neither beat or lost to any fighters on that level. So your extreme example is ****** and doesn't relate to either fighter.

I'd break the bank to bet on Lucas against Broner, but we all know that would be too dangerous for the 4x 'champ' to even take the fight.
