GGG has bigger fights than either Ward or Lara. Neither are in his path to MW domination.

And frankly, Ward isn't even serious about fighting anyone good.

You can't force Ward to fight a top five fighter in the next two years. Or is his entire thing chasing a MW.
Lara didn't lose to Canelo. I don't think anyone can win a fight solely on body punches. You can't win a 12 round fight when your outlanded and you only land 15 head shots in the entire fight.

On Ward... the fact is team GGG is responsible for all the WARD GGG talk. They started talking this fight up and now they're backtracking.

That's been my fear, as the Cotto/Canelo winner Vs GGG is a good fight, but i've got a feeling we won't see it. I think there's a good chance the winner vacates and GGG ends up fighting for a vacant title.

I feel there is more chance of Canelo taking the fight, but i was kinda rooting for Cotto against Canelo, so that puts me in a dilemma as who i now want to win. As i really want to see the winner face Golovkin.

Maybe, or he will be stripped for failing to meet his mandatory should Golovkin refuse the obvious catchweight demand.

        We should start a poll....

        1) a fight will be made between GGG and the Cotto/Canelo winner

        2) Cotto/Canelo winner will vacate, leaving GGG to fight for a vacant belt

        3) Cotto/Canelo winner will be stripped for failing to meet his mandatory, because Golovkin refused his catchweight demand

        I pick option 3

and i've saw canelo lose to a WW...slice it how u may..tbe or w/e..the kid lost to a guy 20lbs lighter.....

these are not good fights..they are popularity fights for him and i'd rather see him challenge himself..bc it will be forgotten when we talk about his career if he doesnt fight ward
Golovkin wants all the belts at MW and he will get them. Cotto and Canelo have no say in the matter.

Cotto and Canelo won't be hard to read when they face the Golovkin question. They can either say they'll do it some time, or they're not ready yet.

Ward, on the other hand, is an enigma. Fans don't know what he wants.

Unify and become undisputed like the MW greats before GGG?

Read what I wrote again in relation to the thread title.

No Jacobs/Quillin, no Cotto. So what else?

Maybe Andy Lee. As long as he faces a top 5 opponent, I'm fine with that. If he goes the Wardish route and fights a tune up then that's messed up.

First he needs to beat some elite fighters before he can go the Wardish route.

But yeah, seems like it'll be a Lee type then more tuneups.
