How about we give Postol some credit instead of degrading Matthysse?

It most certainly is, but they go overboard on non black ko fighters because they're the anti-thesis to their hero.

I get it, any point a Floyd fan makes, deflect to the IV. Carry on sir.

Maybe Law and Order will do a show on it. DUH DUH!

those news outlets are not going to cover a story about a boxer using PEDS for several months

in the boxing world, it was established that floyd mayweather's behavior is highly supsicious.

her's a washington post article that came out when the hauser article / information about floyd's IV use and retroactive exemption came out.

the post isn't going to just rehash this story for a month, the way a boxing website would.

what every popular press article seemed to agree on is that the 750 ML IV happened, and that it was incredibly su****ious.

that's my stance, too. floyd mayweather, an athlete who claims to be 150 lbs weeks out from the fight, took 750 ML of saline to rehydrate. the best method of that kind of mild dehydration is drinking water. this is studied.

also, you all need to stop acting like people are bringin gup floyd's IV use because they're all on an anti mayweather campaign. i spent several grand to fly out to vegas and see floyd mayweather fight canelo alvarez. i'm not some 16 year old manny fanboy.

Yeah that's exactly why People tune in to watch him.

I've already said it was su****ious. You actually quoted me when I did. To then say (like you did yesterday and today) that I am posting about Matts to deflect from that is ******ed.

You said the same thing to Larry and hanzgruber so that's why I figured it was the new deflection tool.

I never posted that you were on an anti Floyd campaign so I have no idea what you are talking about.

Matts quitting is the main story in the sport right now. It will run its course.

When a major outlet talks about the IV issue again, I will pay attention.

Huh? stop shifting. I didn't make any comment about why people watch him. I simply pointed out that his limitations make him exciting.

In fairness I should have said his power coupled with his limitations.

i remember somebody on NSB saying about hte peterson fight "peterson's face looked like he had just hit a wall with a left hook, and the wall hit him back."

matthysse had god given power in both hands. he was a very good offensive fighter. not a genuine one punch guy at the absolute world level, but those guys are pretty rare at 140. randall bailey comes to mind when you talk about true, one punch punchers at 140 lbs. if that guy hit you flush you were going down.

You're talking bollocks mate, Postol style and dimensions are as perfect to Kryptonite as is possible for Lucas. Besides from Crawford and potentially Imam (both tall and lengthy also), I still favour Lucas over everyone else.
It's not a backhanded compliment at all Postol had the superior skill set that night but he won because Matthysse quit. If it had gone to points, Postol still would have won imo. But the facts are as follows, matthysse quit.

                  you probably should have

anybody can eat punches and be limited. matthysse had a lot more going for hiim than that, namely the right hand and left hook.

Matts is not a bum and I have said that repeatedly. In the big fights, for whatever reasons, he doesn't seem to do much but wing power shots, especially the left hook.

If that gets taken away, he kind of gets stuck in a rut. Against Postol the body shots were there for the taking but he just never wen there.

Maybe a new corner would work, but he is 33/34-fighters usually do not add anything at this stage of their career.
