Where is Canelo's fight that did over 2.1 rating on HBO and he's not a Haymon fighter. Wilder/Duhapas did a weak 1.6 rating on Network tv the lowest one to date on NBC. PBC ratings across the board have been declining at a sharp rate. I think that's why you are seeing a shift with Haymon sending his fighters back to showtime. They are losing millions on these PBC fights with bad tv ratings and little to no advertising money. It's back to suckering Showtime to overpay for fights instead of Haymon and his investors overpaying for fights on PBC.

Haymon tries to put on showcase fights and than you get robberies like cherry getting shafted 117-111. That was a joke.

It's not a coincidence. Not only has Haymon been trying to put on shows to compete with already announced HBO shows he is trying to steal and block venues. The Ruslan fight you mentioned was already announced and had a venue and Haymon stole it and blocked other venues forcing that fight to a little casino in NY. Haymon stealing venues and trying to steal dates is actually part of the lawsuit Golden Boy and Top Rank has filed against him. This is now like the 5th time HBO announced a fight and months weeks later Showtime builds a fight for that same day.

Haymon has the right to do whatever he wants to -- as long as it is legal...

You are right, Wilder's numbers were a sharp decline from the 1st PBC fight on NBC.

You have to look at each network ratings separately. The numbers on NBC , dropping. Numbers on ESPN, going up. Bounce-strong for that netwokr. SPikeTV-flucuating. CBS-dropping.

I get you desperately WANT Haymon/PBC to fail. That want doesn't make it true across the board.

You have posted several dozen times that you do not watch Haymon fights, yet you are complaining they are on when HBO fights are on.

Haymon/Espinoza scheduled their Oct 3rd card knowing full well that HBO already had a card scheduled for that day. Knowing them they purposely did it. They know they wouldnt be able to beat HBO's ratings, but if you ask me, their intentions were to hurt HBO's ratings. That seems to be the Haymon motto. Just like when he gave away thousands of free tickets when he and Kathy Duva both had cards at the same night in Las Vegas this past summer.

Hymie cares more about hurting the competition than he does growing his own brand. Nobody in boxing has the stable, dates & financial backing he does, yet he's done nothing but deliver an awful product that only succeeds in driving away audiences instead of gaining them.

The sport will get a good barometer on popularity when the final Cotto-Canelo PPV numbers are tabulated. If that fight does less than one million than the sport is still suffering from the May-Pac backlash. That match which combines two major audiences should do more than 1.5 million.

I DVR both the HBO and Showtime telecasts. A DVR recording is COUNTED as part of the ratings. So even if there are competing telecasts the audience can still watch both while contributing to the ratings.

Although Lucas has had exciting matches is name recognition for casual fans isn't great. Broner lost a lot of his appeal when he lost to Maidana. The fact remains that many just saw him only with the desire to lose, once he did, that lowered his popularity.

Overall, i agree that competing telecasts should have different air-times. Too much of anything is like an overdose. This is why major PPV events start very late to avoid competing with other sports.
