yea thats true as well. IMO povetkin does bring more money... could the purse bid be a type of strategy to make more $$$? what ya think?

WBC rules state he has 365 days from the time he won his belt to fight his mandatory.

OF COURSE it is. Ryabinsky has already stated he will badly overpay for this fight. Wilder just needs to sit back and get ready to beat the heck out of Sasha for 10-15mm

the word "ducking" has been thrown around very loosely lately.

They said in May that negotiations were ordered to start now. They've also just said that Wilder's next defense will be against Povetkin.

The Jennings talk is interesting. I don't want to see Wilder fight another dud, or attempt to put off the Povetkin fight. But, (if) Wilder faces Jennings while Povetkin faces Wach, I'm ok with that.

that's some good money... if he's wants to fight in dec while negotiating the purse bids I see nothing wrong with that. He's still fighting his mando withing the time frame that was given to him by the WBC rules (which they also stated that povetkin must be his next fight, which contradicts their own rules because there isn't a limit of voluntaries you can fight as long as you fight your mando).

After Bermane Stiverne of Canada won the vacant WBC heavyweight title, he was required by the WBC rules to make two mandatory title defenses. The first, against No. 1 ranked Deontay Wilder of the United States, was held on January 17. Wilder won the title by unanimous decision over twelve. The second mandatory challenger was Bryant Jennings, but he took another fight instead against Wladimir Klitschko, so the WBC approved a final eliminator between No. 2 ranked Alexander Povetkin of Russia and No. 4 ranked Mike Perez of Cuba/Ireland to determine the second mandatory challenger.
