Don't purse bids usually require a fight date within 90 days or something like that? If they go to purse bid sometime in Dec. I'd assume nothing could or should be planned for Jan. 2016 unless its Wilder vs Povetkin. BUT we all know the alphabet groups make up the rules as they go along so even if I'm right usually it don't matter cuz alphabet groups move the goalposts all the time. Just go ask GGG & Sergio Martinez among numerous others.
Deontay Wilder will not face Alexander Povetkin next

Wilder wants to hold on to the heavyweight title as long as possible. Why would he risk it by fighting Povetkin so soon?Comment

Don't matter when they do it. AS LONG AS THEY DO IT! WBC says it must happen and it will eventually happen but if he has time to take another fight while they're negotiating what is wrong with that? As long as he fights someone GOOD I have no problem with him fighting while they're negotiatingLast edited by sicko; 10-04-2015, 04:23 PM.Comment

It's funny how u bash boring fighters but love Klitschko and now Postol is you new favorite fighter. They're both ****ing boring. **** Wilder too btw. LolDeontay Wilder says he wants to get back in the ring as soon as possible and is looking for a challenger to fight him in January 2016.
He and his management say the negotiations with team Povetkin could take months before reaching an agreement and they won't wait that long.
His next WBC title defense will very likely not be against a bona fide heavyweight contender. He'll likely fight another journeyman not in the Transnational or Ring top 10 and not in the BoxRec top 25.Comment

How can anyone support that de****able coward Wilder?
Povetkin easily destroys Wilder and everyone knows it.Comment

If Mayweather and Pacquaio can negotiate the biggest fight in history in two months, Wilder should be able to negotiate a fight with Povetkin in that period of time. They should have already been negotiating the fight before Wilder fought his last fightDeontay Wilder says he wants to get back in the ring as soon as possible and is looking for a challenger to fight him in January 2016.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Wilder's team doesn't want to put him in the ring with Povetkin and are trying to come up with excuses to avoid the fight.
Let's all hope that the WBC chooses to enforce its own rules for once. If they do, Wilder will vacate the title sometime in November after his team refuses to make a Povetkin fight and we can be rid of him.Comment

What's wrong with it is that it would be his third voluntary defense and, by every sanctioning body's rules (if they were to enforce them), a champion is only allowed one voluntary defense. Wilder won't fight Povetkin next and he won't fight some who is GOOD. He will vacate the title and fight some bum that is of the same caliber as his last two opponents.Don't matter when they do it. I really didn't think they wanted to fight Stiverne either, instead preferring Arreola has the route to the title. That is why I thought they made Stiverne fight Arreola twice as they waited for Vitali to relinquish. Wilder made the fight though and i was wrong...so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt even though it looks like they're playing the same games again. Part of this has to do with the rollout of the PBC and Wilder's role in that. He better not pull a Bowe, I will be disgusted with the PBC brand if he does thatComment
