Deontay Wilder will not face Alexander Povetkin next

Deontay Wilder says he wants to get back in the ring as soon as possible and is looking for a challenger to fight him in January 2016.

He and his management say the negotiations with team Povetkin could take months before reaching an agreement and they won't wait that long.

His next WBC title defense will very likely not be against a bona fide heavyweight contender. He'll likely fight another journeyman not in the Transnational or Ring top 10 and not in the BoxRec top 25.

Povetkin fights in November. Wilder will get another fight under his belt in December or January. This will set up Wilder-Povetkin nicely for May 2016.

Negotiations are supposed to start on November 4, if Povetkin beats Wach.

Purse bids should be in December. But you know how the WBC is, they'll just do whatever Haymon wants, so they could delay them until the spring of 2016.

I figured it would take place in May/June next year. That's not that bad.

So Wilder would (theoretichally) be able to defend in november.

I dont know if the WBC will follow Haymon. I reckon they'll follow money and Sasha sure has some bigmoney backers.

I just hope this fight gets made soon. It's a great matchup. Straight out of Rocky lol.

Povetkin wanted the fight in September/October (to be Wilder's opponent instead of Duhaupas).

Wilder will avoid this fight as long as they'll let him.
