Welterweight looks very strong if you compare it to Middleweight or Heavyweight.

It's the deepest division in boxing even now. Even down a little from a few years ago, still strong. It's one of the few classes that never seemingly has a genuine lull.

Any promoter reading this thread , You better start promoting the heavyweight division more if you want to get on the UFC level

I have a completely different outlook. I think the welter division is about to sizzle.

          Pacquiao
          Thurman
          Brook
          Garcia
          Khan
          Matthysse
          Porter
          Peterson
          Spence
          Bradley
          Rios

There's potential for a ridiculous amount of matchups over the next couple years.

But who are you to say who has skills?

So you're saying guys like GGG, Lemule, Cotto, N'Dam, Jacobs, Qullin, and Canelo don't have skills.

That comment is absurd and like I said guys get popularity and number of appearances on HBO mixed up with actual skill level.

I mean you have guys that discredit Geale's unified titles but give Paulie credit for winning a paper title. Both fighters are the same skill level but we get a double standard.

Whats Wrong Freedom, not enough Eastern Europeans in that Division for you?

Welterweight Prospects> Any other Division right now. You also throw in Amir Imam, Lucas Matthysse, Terrance Crawford, Lamont Peterson, Walter Castillo will all likely move up to that Division very soon, that really makes that Division just Loaded with young talent going into a Post Mayweather and Pacquiao ERA.

Also prospects like of course Erroll Spence Jr, Sadam Ali, Sammy Vasquez, Konstantin Ponomarev, Jose Carlos Ramirez, Antonio Orozco, Fredrick Lawson just to name a very few are on the rise.

I can easily think of 10 very meaningful fights at 147 that could be made that would excite most boxing fans. Even has some up and comers like Sadam Ali and Errol Spence.

A weak glamour division right now is lightweight because what is 1 meaningful fight there? What are some up and comers there that could excite the masses?

Thurman destroyed and floored both Bundu and Guerrero. Losing maybe 2 rounds out of the 24-rounds fought. Get real.

That's exactly what it is lol. Not enough Europeans. That and freedom got emotional cause someone called middleweight weak which it is

It's weaker than what it has been but not really weak.

Unfortunately boxing has quite a few weak divisions. Talent is spread quite thin. More of a reason to get rid of some of the junior and super division, boxing isn't loaded with talent like it was in the 90s so it makes no sense at all to have this many weight classes. This is especially true for the lower weight classes, where each division may have one or two notable guy, which always leads to "why doesn't so and so move up to fight so and so?" and forces guys to leave a division for a payday.
