lol Thurman didn't struggle against Bundu or Guerrero, he probably lost 2 rounds at most in those two fights combined.

And Porter is nothing like Stevens, he's a good all-round fighter with probably over 300 amateur fights.

Welterweight is one of the top 3 weight classes in boxing atm, even with Floyd gone and Pac on his way out.

He'll probably get the mods to delete this thread out of embarrassment soon.

I wouldn't say that it's a weak division, by any stretch of the imagination. Khan and Bradley are the leading LWWs of their generation, Bradley has wins over some good names at 147 and is the best guy post Pac/May. Khan is starting to make his way in the division.

Porter is an entertaining fighter at times, Garcia is very talented and Thurman, for all his limitations, has a decent punchers chance against better fighters. In terms of the available talent, this is a cracking division, it only gets better if names like Khan/Brook/Porter/Thurman/Bradley/Garcia et al start fighting each other.

A lot of guys confuse popularity with actual skill. Welterweight is a decent division but not much better than Middleweight and Lightheavyweight.

I mean if a clown Paulie could capture a title there than you can't be that strong of a division.

Welterweight is full of skilled fighters, not just popular ones. Middleweight is not.

Winning a title doesn't mean anything in today's era, nobody has ever considered Pauli a top welterweight.

Weak ERA yet you had one guy using steroids to beat this weak ERA of Welters
Paulie Malignaggi is a shot old boxer.

Kell Brook seems to be the only bona fide top fighter in the division right now.[/QUOTE]

We're in a week era period. Not because the talent is lacking. But because nobody is fighting anyone.
