This is a down right amazing breakdown

The numbers of all first x opponents added together is deceptive. Basically just proves who fought bums for the longest period of time. Some fighters like Chavez basically fought 40 bums by 21, so? He had over 100 fights.
I think it would be valuable to remove all cans and get at the part that matters - how strong were the fighters that they fought that were worth discussing? No one truly cares about the first opponents someone fights. And of course, it also is worth mentioning that W-L ratio only says so much - it doesn't say anything about how the opponent was performing at the time they fought.
For example, you've argued that Joe Louis was not a big win for Marciano in another thread. But his record was such that if Marciano had fought 40 opponents identical to Louis his opponents combined win/loss record would shatter Floyd's (it would be like 2400-80). Would you be saying "can't hate on facts" if that were the case or would you be summarily dismissing the argument for focusing on number of wins and losses? It seems to me you'll agree with any argument if it makes Floyd look good, even if there are other situations where you would not agree with an identical argument made for another fighter.
Basically, OP's argument is weak.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 10-02-2015, 05:39 PM.Comment

Someone writes a negative thread about Floyd, Larry be like "Floyd retired, yall need to move on, smh, haters". He then creates thread about Floyd, and expects to be taken seriously.
It's not an amazing breakdown either way, especially when comparing with old timers who were around when there were a lot less belts and they meant a lot more.Comment
