Anyone who considers aggression a positive scoring criteria regardless of whether its effective or not does not know how to score a fight.

Being ineffective while pressing the opponent should not qualify for points.
However if the opponent is "running" not boxing on the move the agressor should be recognized even if he's not landing at a high percentage. After all without his persuit there wouldn't be any engagement.
An agressor that struggles to land can be granted points if he's cutting the ring effectively and he's not getting hit hard or often.
When agood boxer is in with a tough presser the judging can get difficult and you often see lopsided scoring.
Personally I feel pro boxing is about decisive punching that deters opponents from being agressive if you can't slow or stop the agressor than he's being effective most times. They may not look as stylish in their form but that has nothing to do with being successful in a fight.

One guy is always going to be more effective fighting than the other guy, it can be close but based on the punches that land someone really judging a fight should be able to pick the more effective guy to them and explain why that guy was more effective.

If someone is ineffective why should I care what they do?

If someone has ineffective defense should I mark down the other guy because he was going against a guy that had no defense? We grading on a curve now in boxing circles?

Most people shouldn't even attempt to score fights.

Well depends, if the aggression is ineffective due to blatant foul abuse (holding, ducking below the waist, palms to the face) then yes. If its ineffective due to their opponent countering/controlling distance through footwork/effective punching, then hell no.

Plain and simple, people cant beat Floyd with the current rules, so someone wants to create new ones in order for Floyd to be beatable...5-2-15 Stay Salty If you take this argument to the pinoy forum on this site, you might have some support for this...
