    You know, the more I see the fight, the more I wish they had ended it earlier. Who knows, it may have extended Frazier's career. Then again, the Foreman rematch didn't help :/

      Just had to post a brilliant article from the archives over at The Guardian:

      The Guardian, 2 October 1975: After one of the most incredible matches in boxing history, Ali will find it hard to step away from the ring


      Have a read. The writer is spot on, the mountains of money generated by Ali would not allow him to rest and those who took some of that money, would not allow him to rest.

        yeah, that was a very good article...

        and sadly, the truth in it rings true today...

          Exactly. Good eye, whoever the writer was.

          1975 would have been the perfect moment for Ali to walk away, he had recaptured the heavyweight crown, beaten his greatest foe and was at the height of his popularity. The man could have run for president and probably won.
