Pacquiao should just move down to 140 and try to win a title there or become the lineal champ, why the catchweight? Pacquiao wasted a long time fighting unranked 147 pounders, catchweights and guys moving up from 140, why not fight at 140 or maybe 142 for a title?

Him fighting Mattysse at 144 for 140 lbs title is not much better than Cotto fighting Canelo at 155 for the 160 title.

Would be a great fight nonetheless, I got Pacquiao by UD.

I agree, he is obviously not going to fight the welters.

I told everyone years back that " manny-weight " was a nasty precedent.

Funnily enough, fighting at " manny-weight " is still accepted, if your name happens to be Manny..... but not if your name is Canelo, or Cotto.

Im with this to an extent, Lucas has defeated the better opposition/standing of late than everybody on that list. Controversial decion against Garcia!? Smh just no. Crawford, although very good and alotta potential, compared to Lucas opposition hes a beginner. Khan belpngs nowhere on that list.

In the end itll be Crawford to get the fight...or vargas, or bradley

Matthyse has also lost to people who are worse than guys on that list.

Its about levels/styles.

He is made-to-order for Pac, and the easiest opponent of the 5 mentioned.

Lucas lost clearly once. He was screwed once, and most people thought he beat Judah, though I can see how Judah could get that decision.

Matthyse best opponents are Judah, Alexander, Peterson, Garcia.

The only thing not 100% accurate about my post is the fact that Matthyse folded Peterson...... other than Peterson, I'm pretty much right.

IMHO, Peterson kills himself to make weight and would be a better fighter at 147. Could be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Matthysse clearly beat Alexander and it's considered a robbery. Most people think he beat Judah, and no one expected him to. Provodnikov is on this level and Matthysse whooped him.

Matthysse has only disappointed when stepping up against Garcia.
