His biggest challenge has been beaten. Looks like he'll have to beat him again because men like Ward are never allowed to win a close fight in the eyes of the public. Then we'll see if the Canadian is willing to take his inevitable defeat like a man.

Andre is The Man in boxing right now. All the lying and bitterness in the world won't change that. Kovalev seems to be the only guy with a real shot at changing it.

He has a personality of a wood and his style is total sht. Ward isnt exactly the ideal candidate to take over boxing.

There are far better fighters than andre ward.

Well...Kovalev isn't one of them. Maybe he needs to move up again to find an opponent that is skilled enough to solve the Ward puzzle

he might be the number one p4p fighter in the eye of some, but that doesn't mean anything, his rematch with kovalev this worse numbers than the first one, 130K ppv sells it's the number being thrown around and the place was half empty. ward isn't taking over anything.

                  Like who?

His personality is fine. He's well mannered, well spoken, he's not arrogant regardless of what some claim, he's passed his toughest tests already, and could retire right now as a first ballot HOFer

                    He's #1 pound for pound

But he's not taking over boxing. He's only really known to hardcore boxing fans. But as evidenced by his PPV numbers he's not a draw.

What I want to know is who is taking over boxing that way? Right now Canelo is top draw, he' not pound for pound #1 that moniker belongs to Ward, but Canelo is top draw. Joshua has potential as well, too early to tell right now though.

I'm not including Mayweather because even though I know his fight with McGregor will get likely the highest number of PPV's this year. Mayweather is going to retire again and for good after the McGregor fight. He's not going to be fighting after this year.
