Counting Down to Andre Ward's Inevitable Takeover of the Sport of Boxing

Let's be honest we all know Andre Ward is the best fighter in the sport of boxing. Ward was #1 pound for pound in the eyes of most before his legal dispute. Of course Floyd has the longetivity but a 38 year old Floyd wouldn't beat Andre Ward head to head if they were the same size. When you breakdown SOG:

Andre Ward is the most complete fighter in the sport of boxing. He can attack from all ranges and is defensively responsible at all times

Andre Ward is a master of distance. He is always too close to you or too far away from you to be able to land cleanly.

Andre Ward is an intelligent fighter. He makes in fight adjustments, takes away your best weapon and knows how to bait you into traps.

Andre Ward is battle tested. With wins over Froch, Kessler, Abraham, Dawson, Bika and Rodriguez. His resume is a whose who of the ranked contenders at one point in time.

The only thing that has held Ward back is injuries and legal disputes. His detractors have used outside of the ring drama in an attempt to create a false reality that he doesn't exist. The only arguments against Ward are:

He's boring I don't want to see him fight

    He's inactive

    He doesn't sell tickets

He's smug and I hate him

None of which has to do with boxing. With that said, brace yourself for the takeover of the next pound for pound boxing sensation. The rise to the top begins now!!! Feelings will be hurt, excuses will be made and dreams will be torched.

Well, against the biggest punchers they faced early in their careers, Mayweather (#8 P4P) vs Corrales (#5 P4P), Ward vs Boone, Mayweather knocked down his opponent 3 times before stopping him, with no KD's suffered, ever. Ward suffered a brutal knock down that turned his legs into Bambi's, en route to a decision win over Boone. Let's fast forward to Ward's career and give him a fair shake, first big puncher with great ranking, with Ward and Mayweather being underdog: Mikkel Kessler vs Andre Ward, and Mayweather vs Corrales. Mayweather = 134lbs, Corrales = 146lbs. Mayweather TKO10. Ward vs Kessler (Both mid to high 170s), TD11.

I think that 130 Floyd, P4P is a greater fighter than Ward. You can't think of Floyd as you have seen him recently in his 4th and 5th weight class vs the Ward of 168. You have to see them both on even terms. Floyd's first weight class and Ward's first and only weight class. Super Featherweight Mayweather destroys Andre Ward. He was more dominant against his 130 opponents, with power to boot and ending things inside 12 rounds for 21 of 27 130 fights, yet still defensively responsible.

Otherwise, I agree with everything you just said.

Ward's tuneups are on par with your favorite fighters title defenses.

Edwin Rodriguez would be one of GGGs best wins.

Not necessarily.. Nowadays fighters are elected great because of who ducked them as opposed to who they beat.
