  • LOL @ GGG stans getting Cobra'd. They know a prime Froch would have damn near killed their boy, and he's ducking Ward hard by asking for more than 50% because that would be a boxing lesson.

Better known than Andre Ward? Is that the standard for being well known in the UK now according to Kafkod?

Neither are well known in the UK at all. If I had to wager though, I'd say Ward seeing as he shared the ring with Froch.

        Looooool. No. Just no.
I'm talking from my own personal experience here. I work in a mail centre with nearly 1000 other guys, most are sports fans with at least a casual interest in boxing.

Everybody where I work knows I'm a keen boxing fan, and since GGG fought Murray, and Sanchez started talking about him possibly fighting Floyd, I've had a lot of guys coming over saying they've seen this or that fight of Golovkin's on YT, and asking me questions about him, usually in connection with Mayweather.

          Yeah, 4 years ago.

Like I said, whenever I mention Ward to the casual boxing fans I know, it seems like I always have to mention Froch to jog their memories.

To me, what stands out about Ward's career over the last 2/3 years is his reluctance to face any challenging opponents whatsoever.

Call me cynical, but I think there's got to be a reason for that.

From my experience I can approach anyone that follows combat sports and they'll know Golovkin, haven't met anyone that cares about Ward except the other boxing heads.

Often overhearing people talking aboud Golovkin also.

Wasn't the discussion. I don't even know how Ward got brought into this.

Ward probably would never have fought anyone at all if not for the super-six tournament which gave a relative nobody leverage over more established fighters. Guy is a diva of epic proportions.

GGG's critics, like myself, judge him according to the status he's been given in the sport. Which IMO is undeserved. He's very similar to the pre-Chino Broner, just on a bigger scale. Had Broner stayed at lightweight, and gone on the same bull**** "unification" crusade GGG is on and all his fans are clinging to. There's a good chance AB would still be undefeated and we'd be talking about him as the potential P4P heir apparent. The difference is AB had more critics than worshippers thay wouldn't allow him to feast on the Vazquezs, Figeroas, and Abrils of the world like GGG is being applauded for doing.
